Dear Somerville dog owners

On Sunday afternoon, November 1, City Dog Training is offering a Free Clinic to teach your dog to stay and to come when called. The clinic is from 1:00 to 2:00 at Nunziato Field on Summer Street at Vinal Avenue, adjacent to the off-leash recreational area. Leashed dogs that are up-to-date on their vaccinations and that enjoy the company of other dogs are welcome!

Every year in Somerville dogs are injured or killed when they get away from their owners and are hit by cars. Training your dog to come when called may save its life.

In canine obedience training the ability to call your dog and get an immediate response at all times is known as "recall." City Dog Training hopes to offer Free Recall Clinics to Somerville dog owners at different locations across the City. The next clinics are planned for January and March at Powder House Park and at Lincoln Park, respectively.

The Somerville Dog Owners Group is pleased to co-sponsor the Free Recall Clinics with the Somerville Recreation and Youth Commission.

Cheers,
