I am finally able to spend a little more time with SolrNet, and need
to look at adding functionality to manage Cores in Solr. I noticed
that there is a SolrCoreAdmin branch, so wanted to find out the status
of incorporating the appropriate Commands into the main SolrNet trunk
and a few minor additions to the overall commands.

Please let me know what I can do to help with this endeavor as I’d
prefer not to have our own code out of the great codebase you’ve
developed up to this point.

Hi Andre',

There has been no commit since July 2010. The entry point interface is ISolrCoreAdmin, which has methods for all multicore commands. IIRC the only thing missing is response parsing (see https://github.com/mausch/SolrNet/commit/2f077fade97ad2679097d4cfbf3e663ce953cae9#diff-13 )

Cheers,
Mauricio

Code has been implemented and a new pull request issued. Let me know
if you think I need to make any additional changes. One slight thing
to note, I create a Cores namespace under SolrNet.Commands to separate
out all of the Core commands in case Solr decides to re-use some of
the names at a future date.

Based on requested additions, issue a new pull request a few moments
ago.

Mauricio,
Sorry I haven't been available.  We were in the hospital for my infant son last week.  Let me know what else we need to do to integrate the SolrCore Admin functionality into the main branch so it's available to our developers using NuGet.

Thanks,
Andre'

Hi Andre' ,

I'm sorry to hear that, I hope your son gets well soon...

SolrCoreAdmin functionality looks perfect and I'll be merging it shortly.

There's a problem about getting it as a NuGet package though:
SolrNet 0.4.0 is feature-frozen since the last beta. We just need to complete the documentation to release it. Hopefully I'll do it this week (any help would be greatly appreciated!). But since it's feature-frozen, SolrCoreAdmin won't go into 0.4.0.
We could release an alpha of 0.5.0 including SolrCoreAdmin right now, but it would look quite weird to have an alpha release and a beta release of a previous version at the same time.
A workaround would be creating the package yourself and using a local NuGet feed: http://docs.nuget.org/docs/creating-packages/hosting-your-own-nuget-feeds
To create the NuGet packages you can run "build.bat target=NuGet.All"

I'm open to other suggestions and solutions!

Cheers,
Mauricio
