Dear subscribers,

As you know, the E-Journal of Solidarity, Sustainability, and Nonviolence (SSNV) has launched a new series on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

The April 2009 preliminary consultation phase (Version 0) is now closed. However, the results can be viewed online:

Also available online is a summary analysis report for Version 0:

The current consultation form (May 2009, Version 1) is online,

and the link to view the Version 1 spreadsheet format is as follows:

The survey covers the eight ESD key themes recommended by UNESCO:
http://portal.unesco.org/education/en/ev.php-URL_ID=27234&URL_DO=DO_TOPIC&URL_SECTION=201.html

1. Gender Equality
2. Health Promotion
3. Environmental Stewardship
4. Rural Development
5. Cultural Diversity
6. Peace & Security
7. Sustainable Urbanization
8. Sustainable Consumption

Version 1 integrates Paulo Freire's "Qs&As" method with Ken Wilber's AQAL (All Quadrants, All Levels) model, as tailored for integral sustainable development by Barrett Brown.  Links to these basic references can be found in the April and May issues of the journal:

       SSNV-ESD Part 2, May 2009:

This is a long term project. If the future of human civilization depends on sustainable development, then it depends even more on providing good education for sustainable development.  Even though Version 1 is still a test (revised based on feedback from Version 0) your participation and feedback would be most appreciated.

Sincerely,
Luis
