The differences I understand to exist are:

1.  Pronunciation.
2.  The notable absence of French-derived words in Flemish.

I have shown both Flemish and Dutch people texts written in one of the
languages (we still don't know which), and they couldn't tell them
apart.

No, I haven't heard that.
