Sokiryany Jewish Roots

Welcome to Sokiryany (Secureni, among other spellings...) Jewish Roots mailing list. The purpose of the group is to unite jewish descendants of families that lived in what was once the shtetl of Secureni, in the verge of the Dniester border - in what was Romania, and is today Ukraine (in the border with Moldova) - and to share/build info on our ancestors history. We conducted some projects in the past and are trying to translate some documents pertaining to the city, that were found in the Chernivsti's state archive.
