Hi Folks

Software Craftsmanship 2010 will very probably be at Bletchley Park
nr. London, and very probably in early July. (July 1st is current
favourite - confirmation of date/location will be in 2-3 weeks's time)

Some early details about the auditioning process are now up on my
blog:

Auditions for coaches/mentors for the other auditionees close on Dec
31st.

Hope to see many of you there.

Best wishes

Jason,

I'm excited you're doing a Software Craftsmanship conference in 2010!

And I think the format is going to make for a very interesting day
together. I'll start noodling on an audition, and hopefully be able
to clear my calendar to attend, though a mid-summer date makes it
tough with holidays + kids.

Best,

Hi Jason,

Very interesting and cool approach, I believe that I'll be preparing
an audition :)

Jason,

Interesting submission process.

How would I go about making a submission to run a workshop session
where I don't want to prejudge the outcome? This would be a session
that is about a real programming problem, but where it wouldn't make
sense to submit a lengthly screen capture as a proposal because the
point of the session wouldn't be for the participants to learn from
me; the point would be that we all work together to advance our
understanding. The session would feature participants coding, but it
wouldn't be possible to know in advance exactly what would be done.
Can your submission process handle sessions like that? What exactly
would I submit?

All the best,

John

Hi John

Good question. In cases like the idea you've outlined, I guess other
auditionees voting might want to see an example of the sort of thing
you believe people _might_ do in that session so they can judge how
useful they think that would be as a learning experience for them, as
well as get a rough feel for the skills and experience it might
require and its practicality within the proposed session format (e.g.,
would it fit in a 90 minute session?) \it would be a bit like
demonstrating a game of Monopoly to illustrate the rules and give a
ballpark idea of the practicalities involved :-)
