Thanks for your kind answer. I need to make a translation from English to Spanish but my keyboard don't give me accents or egne (Only in Spanish). How can I get spanish characters in my I-Mac 24 inch?...
Thanks

Julián,

The best solution is to replace your Apple USA keyboard with an Apple Spanish keyboard, since it will include everything to type directly in multiple languages (including Castilian, Catalán, English, French, Italian, and Portuguese). Absolutely all of the letters are in the exact position as in the USA keyboard. Only a few symbols change positions, and there are 2 extra keys. You can get one from www.TuTeclado.com or www.SpanishKeyboard.us. I exclusively use this type of keyboard, and have have done so for over 20 years.

The masochistic solution is to use key combinations on the USA keyboard to type accented characters. The combination of ALT + E (both together, then release) followed by any vowel will produce an accented vowel for Castilian. The combination ALT + N (both together, then release) followed by an -n- will produce -ñ-. This is much less efficient, but does work. Creating upper case accented marks are even more cumbersome, but (despite the myth to the contrary) are required for proper Castilian.

Julián,

First of all, I must clarify for semantics' sake that there is no such thing as a physical English keyboard. There are Australian keyboards, English Canadian keyboards, Irish keyboards, United Kingdom keyboards, and USA keyboards, but no English keyboard. Commercially available keyboard layouts are classified by region. (Custom keymaps are a 2nd category, as I once hired to create a Guaraní keymap as a subset of the physical Spanish ISO keyboard. On the other hand, iPhone keymaps are yet a 3rd category.)

Having said that, I imagine that you have an Apple USA keyboard. To type the ¿ on the Apple USA keyboard in MacOS, you press SHIFT + ALT + ? simultaneously. To type the ¡ (inverted exclamation mark) key on the USA keyboard, you press ALT + 1 simultaneously. If for some reason your keyboard is Australian, Canadian, Irish, or UK, let me know, and I'll give you the appropriate combinations.
