Welcome!  The Social Security Disability Coalition was created because we are concerned with ALL aspects of what transpires when a claimant files for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)/Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits, through all stages of the disability benefit claims process, including final claim resolution. We're a national grass roots organization that is deeply concerned about the way fragile populations in this country are suffering under the SSDI/SSI application process. This group and their experiences, are a very accurate reflection and microcosm of what is happening to millions of SSDI/SSI applicants every day. Unlike other groups, our MAIN focus is on SSDI/SSI program and legislative reform.

In addition, we also offer our members, FREE comprehensive information, resources and much needed support. Member e-mail addresses are very important for mass communication on issues so please be sure to keep your e-mail address current.  Together with your co-operation we can make this group positive, informative, supportive, and a force for change for all disabled Americans.

If you have questions or need further info please e-mail:

SSD COALITION POLICY GUIDELINES

Very Important!!! - This is an informational as well as support group and while we try to offer support to our members, our message board is not a free for all, post/say whatever you want board like most support groups on the internet.  Due to the very sensitive subject matter and fragile condition of our members, our board is unique compared to most.  The vast majority of our members are suffering from all sorts of disabling conditions – both mental and physical.  When offering help to other members on this board, be as factual and informational as possible.  NEVER make comments or opinions as to what you think their physical or mental condition is.  It is up to them to tell us.  Remember the “Golden Rule” – treat others as you wish to be treated at ALL times – with respect and dignity.  Before you post anything to this group, please make sure that you read through ALL our policies very carefully.  Posts are strictly monitored to maintain the professionalism and integrity of our group, and this website is often viewed by the Social Security administration, members of Congress and the media.  ALL posts must be approved before they will appear on our website, so they will not appear immediately after you submit them. We do not have the ability to change/edit any posts, only the ability to approve or reject them.  While you may not agree with them, our policies have been instituted to preserve the dignity, privacy, safety and support of our members.  Those who cannot follow our policies should either not join, or instead just observe, do not post messages, and only use our site as an information resource.

Policies/Posting Regulations: Do not use e-mail to post to this site - login and post directly to the message board at ALL times. Due to virus/security concerns NO ATTACHMENTS are allowed to posts here.  Do not include other people's posts as part of your own. Due to copyright issues do not post articles on this message board. You can post the name of the article and the web link only. None of the following will ever be tolerated in any manner: slander, flames, extreme judgmental or rude messages. Incendiary or obscene language. Vulgar topics or subject matter. Racial slurs or comments. Personal attacks - nasty or hateful messages, rude inferences or threats to other members. Innuendos or allegatory comments in response to others. Jokes, poetry, and chain type e-mail messages are also prohibited.  Offending messages will be deleted and offenders will be banned from this group.

NO member, other than managers of this group, has the right to tell others what can be posted on this board.  Since we cannot be on the computer 24 hours a day, and there can be technical difficulties, please be patient if your post does not show up right away.

NEVER post personal or financial information anywhere on this website such as Social Security numbers, benefit amounts, income, phone numbers, expenses, bills, home address etc. as we have strict privacy protocols.  When referring to anyone handling your Social Security issues, we ask that you do not mention them by name in anyway.  This type of information is nobody’s business except your own and for your protection should not be posted on the Internet.

No member should ever advise another how they should be represented when filing for SSDI/SSI benefits, or other legal matters, and we ask that you do not mention by name, any specific legal firms in your posts.

Uploading Pictures/Graphics Policy: due to limited storage space members may only upload ONE picture, ONLY if they are in it.  All other uploads violating this policy will be deleted.  Due to limited storage space on this website we ask that you DO NOT USE ANY GRAPHICS in your posts on this board.  TEXT MESSAGES ONLY are allowed.  Any posts that do not adhere will be rejected.

Policy on Religion, Politics and This Group: Religious beliefs are very personal and vary greatly.  In order to respect everyone’s differences we ask that you not use any religious references in your posts.  Since this group is focused on Social Security Disability issues they are not appropriate here.  Politics is a very important part of what we do here since the government/politicians are a key factor in getting the reforms we seek, but we ask that you do not engage in discussions about specific political parties, or individual elected officials here.  We must respect each other's differences when it comes to political affiliations. ALL parties and politicians share the responsibility for the problems with the Social Security Disability program, so start contacting ALL your elected officials and tell them that you are holding them accountable, and if they want your support, they must help us reform it! You can contact all your elected officials and the media through:
http://www.congress.org

Please do not use words like “work, works, worked, working, job, service, services” etc in posts when referring to any members of this group.  The majority of our members here are applying for benefits based on permanent, and total disability, which means they cannot work at all/do any job.  Well meaning comments can be taken out of context and give the wrong impression to others.  We do not wish to put anyone’s disability benefits or application for disability benefits in jeopardy as a result of such comments.

Any posts that do not follow the guidelines will be rejected/deleted.  If after a week within original date of submission your post does not appear, chances are your post did not follow our policies, and was not approved.  Do not contact us to ask us why it is not on the message board, but instead review the policies again, and then re-submit the post properly.  Keep in mind we have no control over individual account issues/problems.  Those must be addressed by Google directly, in which case you will need to contact them.  Violators of our policies will be removed from the group.  In the meantime and as always if you have questions (other than posting/account issues) or need help with your claim, please e-mail us directly at:
ssdcoalition@hotmail.com

Thanks much for your co-operation and support.
