For any interested in the reality of the situation, after talking for
a while with the young lady I have come to realize that what is going
on is a mid-life crisis.
She is getting older and thinks that she is not as pretty anymore, she
is comparing herself to younger females, in particular her own
daughter and feels that she is "falling apart", so this has become a
counseling thing...
The thing is I think this could after a fashion be said to relate to
nudism because this young lady is essentially a 'victim' of the Body
image propaganda poured upon women by society and the various media
outlets (Television, Movies, Print).
I talked with her privately about her "can they see my underwear" and
the more we talked the more it came out that she was going through a
form of mid-life crisis, she has turned forty and is thinking of
herself as "getting old" and she thinks that she is no longer pretty,
that she is getting fat, that guys no longer see her as 'Sexy'.
Part of her 'problem' is that she has a daughter that also works at
the same place (different dept) and her daughter (20-something) is
very pretty and she compares herself to her daughter and sees herself
as lacking.
(My personal opinion they are both beautiful.)
She also has a (soon to be) 'X' husband that left her for a girl that
is almost as young as their daughter, and he talks down her appearance
too.
She (as I've noticed) dresses very 'sexy' on certain days, I think she
is doing it to elicit a reaction from some of the male staff so that
she can get assurance that she is still pretty, unfortunately I think
that she is focusing on the opinions of the wrong people, I know many
(even some who don't exactly like her) that agree with me that she is
beautiful.
I'm trying to figure a way to carefully reassure her that she is not
'getting old and ugly' without running the risk of someone screaming
"Sexual Harassment".
Now the Nudist tie-in that I see is the way that women in particular
are being pounded relentlessly with what I term "Body Image
Propaganda", that is the idea that certain body types and ages are
"Pretty" or "Sexy" while all others are definitely not.
I hear too many people that when 'Nudism' is talked about they grimace
and make comments that imply that the naked body is somehow ugly or
disgusting, I blame the Mainstream Media for this attitude, because of
the propaganda they dump on us daily in everything from commercials to
our favorite movie, to the News channels.
I find it very sad that a lady as pretty as this one thinks of herself
as being "old, fat and ugly" when she most assuredly is not and that
it upsets her so much that she goes to great lengths to try to get
attention from the guys and want approval from them (young guys) but
not listen when others of us tell her our opinion, I guess old guy
opinions don't count.

One interesting thing about my workplace which may or may not have
something to do with my age or how I interact with the ladies there is
I've had more of them "unload" about personal things than they do with
other guys or even with other women that work there.
I had one come to me for someone to talk to when she suspected breast
cancer, we talked for awhile and after she joked about "2nd
opinions" (she asked if I wanted to check) I got her to agree to go in
for the tests and it came out benign.
But the point is it seems they feel more comfortable talking to me
about 'sensitive subjects', it makes me feel good.
