Subject: SocialCalc Japanese
Dear Casey, person in charge,

This is Hidefumi Takaguchi from CEC. It is nice to work with you.
Now we are going to contribute japanese language file to socialcalc
according to the contract with SocialText.
However, a problem is still unresolved. Please help us.

The version of wikicalc we use is , 0.95(SocialCalc Beta1).
The problem is, Japanese character becomes garbled when enteted into
cells.
I do not know whether all of double-byte character are garbled but as
for Japanese,
it becomes garbled.

Following is the process of recurrence.
1. Launch SocialCalc
2. Create any page and select Edit button
3. Focus on any cell and put Japanese character into its cell
4. Press OK button (at that time, correct Japanese character is shown
on
the screen)
5. Select Preview or Format button

after step 5, Japanese character , entered during step 3, becomes
garbled on the screen.

Following is the Japanese character example:

ソーシャルテキスト

I know it is difficult for you to understand the difference of
Japanese
character form
but it is sure that you can see some change in form has happened.

As my opinion, the cause of this problem is around render_sheet
function
but I'm not sure whether it is correct.
If you have any resolution about this, it would be very helpful for
us.
