Kishore Singh has been appointed as the UN Special Rapporteur on the
Right to Education

New Delhi: An international law expert from India, Kishore Singh, has
been appointed as the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education
(RTE).
Presented by the government and by two judges of the International
Court of Justice at The Hague, Singh's candidature was supported by
the Geneva-based Platform of NGOs on the right to education.
Being the Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education, Singh will be
responsible for safeguarding and promoting the right to education
worldwide.
Apart from this, an annual global report will also have to be
presented by him to the Human Rights Council. The report will consist
of interactive dialogue, suggestions and recommendations for advancing
the RTE.
