Hi all,

I have attempted to wrap the current conversation about the workshop
agenda (influenced by 1-to-1 conversations I have had with Tom, Phil,
and Christine) into a simplified workshop agenda.

Please have a look at the page below, and let me know what you think.
Feel free to make changes directly to the page.

All the best,
peter

I'm really welcoming the chance to exchange ideas about the
microphilanthropy workshop theme, but the agenda proposed here seems
to have veered pretty far from what was proposed originally (posted
4/20 at http://www.upliftacademy.org/wiki/index.php?title=MP2008).
That original objective was what pulled me (and others) to sign on so
my edits return to it and the original schedule. The discussion topics
that come to mind that would build on that and pull in the
conversation we've launched here might be something like this:

10:00 Morning Session -- "Understanding the search/amplify approach"
02:00 Afternoon Session -- "Bringing a search/amplify approach to
microphilanthropy”
10:00 Morning Session “”Building ICT protocols for search/amplify
microphilanthropy”

The first one can include theories (of change, action, learning, etc.)
that differentiate this approach from the plan/execute model. The
second one -- recognizing search/amplify in microphilanthropy
(especially the transformational vs. transactional stuff). The third
one opens a discussion for ICT protocol -- where is this model already
being used? What innovations (conditions and conduits) are needed to
encourage it?

I'm expecting all of these ideas/two cents will be filtered through
non-Social Actions members', and ultimately Tom/Uplift Academy's,
lens, too.

Looking forward to seeing the next iteration.

Hi Christine,

Thanks for keeping us on track with the original intent. I am most
interested in getting together as a group (the 8 of us, or so) and
having an open ended discussion about everything that's been mentioned
to date. As much as we try to plan out the two morning sessions and one
afternoon session, it seems clear to me the facilitated conversations
and the informal conversations between sessions will bleed into each other.

I suggest that we begin with the three topics you listed below, and fill
in bullet pointed questions that we would like to touch on in each of
the sessions. My two cents.

Thanks again for reworking the agenda.

All the best,
Peter

I just had talk with Peter, and, given the small size of the group for
the May 28-29 workshop, I've decided to delay it for a while. I'm
sorry to have to do this, but the deadline for committing to the
facility was due, and I thought it best to reconvene the workshop with
a little more time to pull it off... sorry for any inconvenience this
may have caused... I think that the folks who will be attending can
still have some time together.

I'm still interested in seeing this topic take off, its just that it
wasn't coming together for this particular time slot...
