Hi everyone,

Getting ready for the NetSquared Challenge involves preparing our
pitch on what Social Actions is about. Peter had a chance to practice
that on Thursday while talking with Justin Massa of MoveSmart.org.

A recording of their conversation is on the Social Actions blog at
http://blog.socialactions.com/profiles/blog/show?id=2062983%3ABlogPost%3A823.

The page here is an edited version of the transcript, to give us a
place to collectively improve on it.

Please edit or comment on any parts of the content or phrasing --
anything that would help us improve on briefly and clearly telling the
Social Actions mashup story, especially as it speaks to the
sustainability, social impact, and innovation criteria of the
NetSquared Challenge -- and keep a conversation going here on any part
of the write-up that raises questions about how the mashup and those
criteria are being described.

Thanks,
Christine

Hi there

From a platform participating in the mashup through this aggregate, I can say from a business perspective, there is benefit for a platform to participate in social actions model.

Two things, in order to successfully make a difference you have to transcend borders and be global.  This concept does just that, there are no barriers for those who wish to participate, be it a social platform or an individual wishing to serve their cause.

Secondly, social actions is acting like a 'channel partner' in that it is funneling participants, in essence 'clients' to a particular platform.  That is of benefit to that social platform in its long term growth and developmental impact.

As a social platform, by collaborating with Social Actions proposal, there is value because the concept leverages what we are doing.

Each of us has a niche, our platforms are all unique and identified by a variety of core solutions, or features.  As a 'partner' or participant through Social Actions, we have an opportunity to be identified by those who require, need, or choose our core solutions or features for their cause.

Peter, the proposal is great.  We also need to articulate why a social platform would want to participate, why it would be of benefit and how it can leverage their social platform.

There is value in this proposition for social actions who choose to participate.

Hi everyone,

We've used the "draft pitch" page as the basis for a handout to
distribute at the NetSquared and Stockholm competitions. The first
draft of that document is a File at:

http://social-actions.googlegroups.com/web/SocialActionsHandOut_6May08.pdf?gda=-ZVX61AAAAAK2xRgRZs-jcOxvOAYqkluBPXg51PYTQY_mL4sWboSc2G1qiJ7UbTIup-M2XPURDT4qqAlUGVhoPn8UlAO5F763cZY-aAnqMUNd4AD1YlFWw

Please suggest any and all improvements to the layout, content,
design, overall message, tone, anything and everything. Raise your
hand, too, if you have skills beyond "text boxes in Microsoft Word"
and want to take the design up a notch or two!

Thanks,
Christine

Hi Beverley,

I agree that we need to answer the question, "Why would a social
platform want to participate, why would the SA open API be of benefit
and how can the SA open API leverage their social platforms."

To answer this question, I'd like to go straight to the platforms
themselves. If I take this question to the platforms, we'll get an
answer that speaks to the actual desires of all of the platforms, as
well as testimonies from the platform creators as to why they want to
see Social Actions win the NetSquared Challenge.

We can use this material ahead of and during the conference. By the
way, have you registered PincGiving to attend the Net2 conference? I
don't remember discussing this. Since you're coming down for the
micro-philanthropy workshop, you might also want to attend Net2.

You can register here:
http://tinyurl.com/62d4rs

PincGiving has already answered the question. Thank You! I'll take the
question to the other platforms starting tomorrow.

All the best,
Peter
