In case you don't know it yet, check out Ammado.com: yes, yet another
social networking for good platform, working with non-profits, based in
Dublin. It's not in the list of platforms yet, I met Anna Kupka, their CEO,
at the Ecampaigning Forum in Oxford, last April.
Main reason to forward you their June newsletter is this last bit (the rest
to give some more context perhaps):
"In early July, ammado will be launching a unique and innovative online
donating feature, the ammado Giving Circle. The ammado Giving Circle
marks a new era which will revolutionise online giving for donors. We
are really looking forward to the release of this much anticipated feature."
/-- Kind regards,
/--- Rolf.

Hi Rolf,
We have been very busy at ammado over the past few weeks. Most of our
efforts have been focused on improving the look and feel of our site. We
are really excited to release this improved version to the public!
*Site* * Redesign*
If you have logged onto ammado recently you will have seen changes
to our site. If you haven’t, you are in for a big surprise! The ammado
site has undergone a complete redesign. We hope that our new and
improved ammado site will enhance your experience on ammado and improve
the site usability. Our redesigned site includes a new member profile
design, a new organisation profile design and a new communities
design. It also includes enhancements to existing features such as
enhanced photo upload functionality and improved menu and page
layouts. Log in now at www.ammado.com <http://www.ammado.com/> and check
out the new design for yourself or read more about it on our
blog: http://en.blog.ammado.com/features/ammado-redesign-a-sneak-peek/

*Facebook application *
Those of you with Facebook profiles can now promote and stay up to date
with your favourite ammado nonprofits with the new ammado Facebook
application. To access the ammado Facebook application, simply click on
the "Promote our Profile" button on the profile of your favourite ammado
nonprofit. This application automatically feeds content from the
nonprofit 's profile to your Facebook profile. Any
time nonprofits publish an article, initiate a petition, create
communities or upload photo albums, this content will automatically be
updated on your Facebook profile. You can also access the ammado
Facebook application by logging into your Facebook account and searching
for "my ammado nonprofit" in the applications section.
*UNHCR World Refugee Day 2008*
**
The world celebrates World Refugee Day on June 20th. This year the theme
of the campaign is protection - the heart and soul of UNHCR, the UN
Refugee Agency. To create awareness and spread this important message
the UNHCR has launched a worldwide photo campaign calling on people to
collect as many photos of themselves, friends, family, colleagues and
classmates imitating the protecting hands symbol of UNHCR. The UNHCR
has created a community on the ammado platform where people can easily
upload their photos: www.ammado.com/worldrefugeeday2008
<http://www.ammado.com/worldrefugeeday2008> and show their support.
You don’t have to be an ammado member to get involved - so spread the
word and ask your friends to add their support as well. Please get
involved and help the UNHCR achieve its goal by uploading your pictures
today!
*Coming soon....*
In early July, ammado will be launching a unique and innovative online
donating feature, the ammado Giving Circle. The ammado Giving Circle
marks a new era which will revolutionise online giving for donors. We
are really looking forward to the release of this much anticipated feature.
Thanks for your continued support and please don’t forget World Refugee
Day 2008: www.ammado.com/worldrefugeeday2008

I also heard of a nonprofit charity site coming out of Oxford called
Wahblo (not yet launched). Phil Bradley mentioned them to me over the
winter.
It's strange how the names of many of these sites almost rhyme.
All the best,
Peter
