Dear DEA Watch,
I really want to thank you guys for allowing us in DOD to use your website. As you know I have a Marine relative working for DEA. (D/W redacted) has the highest respect for the Corps and DEA. (D/W
redacted) always talks about applying (D/W redacted)'s Marine training and experience to (D/W redacted)'s job as a (D/W redacted) in the (D/W redacted) office on the (D/W redacted).
Well, here's some news... we're hearing talk in these here corridors that General Peter Pace is considering putting in his retirement papers and calling it a career.
We ex-Marines are over-joyed at this news which we hope to be true.
I don't need to tell you that until Bush was elected that was never a time in our country's history when a non-Army general was in supreme command of our military. Bush, being the idiot that he is,
put an Air Force general in charge when he invaded Iraq, then replaced him with a Marine general. Since when did the Air Farce and the Marine Corps take the lead in any ground war??? And it shames the
Corps that only Army generals have to date quit in protest to Bush's insanity.
We all hope the rumors about Peter Pace quitting are accurate. But we don't have any illusions about Bush appointing an Army commander to replace Pace, unless that Army commander is another "Betrayus"
Patraeus who will do, say and think anything our draft-dodger president tells him to do, say or think.
Lastly, I am sure you people at DEA Watch are well aware that General Pace's "baby"... his new Special Forces unit... that just got kicked out of Afghanistan for committing atrocities comparable to
the Nazi SS... was destined to embarrass the Corps. (DEA Watch) will recall two items I sent to (DEA Watch) for publication about a year ago. Please permit me to provide the text's of those warnings.
(You can compare these texts with those in (DEA Watch's) archive to verify accuracy.
Following the atrocities committed by Marines in Faluja in 2006, on 26 May 2006 at 12:27 PST I wrote the following in DEA Watch's 2nd Edition:
“The real problem is the Marines shouldn't even be in Iraq. Iraq is not a naval related mission, Iraq is strictly an Army mission. The Marines are there solely to "blood" them, and to get publicity
for the Corps. Their idiot General Pace is now trying to create a Marine "Special Forces" branch which isn't needed and cannot be justified because every operation a USMC SF unit would be asked to do
can already be done by either Army or USAF SF units. Putting the Marines in Iraq for positive publicity has totally backfired.”
And on 12 Jun 2006 at 17:01 PST in the 4th Edition I wrote the following:
“For the past week our president has presided over no fewer than three think-tank groups assembled to advise him how to proceed in Iraq.
“The group he listened to today are the same yo-yo's who encouraged him to invade Iraq. Go figger!
“Franklin Roosevelt won WW2 fighting three major enemies and the only person he interfaced with on a regular basis was his Joint Chief's chairman, George C. Marshall, a true military genius.
“Our current president possesses neither the intellect nor gift for choosing smarter people to advise him. Our president picked a dorky USMC general to lead our military. Correct me if I'm wrong...
but is it not the Marine Corps who keeps getting called on the carpet for killing innocent, unarmed women and children in Iraq? And correct me if I am doubly wrong, but wasn't the first Joint study
requested by MC General Peter Pace to create an SF force for the MC? I mean... like... wouldn't it have made more sense for an incoming wartime Chairman of the Joint Staff to request a high-level
study on how best and quickly to win two wars we were fighting??? Is creating a USMC SF force more important that winning two wars???

It is a sin and shame that our Marines continue to commit unforgivable atrocities against civilians and combatants in Iraq and Afghanistan. And the atrocities committed by General Pace's new "Special
Forces" battalion in Afghanistan truly shames the Corps and our country.
General Pace should retire... yesterday. And every current and former Marine should be ashamed at how Pete "The Pervert" Pace perverted our beloved Corps.
