Good grief! In all seriousness, and with all due respect, you really
do sound like a person who is, and I mean deadly-seriously, suicidal.
Depression is the 4th stage of grief. The fifth, and final stage, is
Acceptance--divine ecstacy--in the Light (the "whiteness of Neptune").
Plenty of people have casually talked about, or joked about, suicide,
but have rarely actually *committed* suicide. You sound more serious...
I know, you'll wax indignant, and retort "but I didn't mean to imply
that" or "you misunderstood my words". Nonetheless, what you said is
what you said. You sound suicidal. People who are seriously suicidal
frequently cry out for help, but few have the trained ears to listen,
until it's too late: and that soul actually does murder him/her-self!
Murder is the most maligned affliction of Mars. Thou shalt not murder.
Suicide is murder, self-murder. That's why it is a Cardinal Sin. See?
Wiser souls than I have consistently advised us mere, mortal sinners
to practice attenuating our attention on our own fleshly, ego-selves
and actively sharpen our focus on what Cayce called "the other self".
Even our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ said very much to that effect.
But that does not mean we mortally-incarnate sinners, verily Lucifer-
incarnate every one of us, should revile our incarnate experience on
the earth. Love God with your all -and- love thy neighbor as thyself.
This can be easy or difficult, but it is always a choice of freewill.
Life is sacred, to be celebrated, and cherished! The LORD giveth and
the LORD taketh away. (As I'm grateful to God for life, He knows it.)
The immortal physical temple of our immortal soul, the Human body, is
verily of God's creating, not man's. Whereas, the body's mortality is
manifestly-inherent on account of each and every man's own individual
rebellion against God--each according to his own works of good & evil.
Jesus said "My yoke is easy, and my burden is light" [Matthew 11:30].
We Christians believe that all souls are of the One and Infinite. We
believe that As you do to the least, even your-self, *you* do to Him!
So Do What Thou Wilt (refer to Leviticus 5:17... good luck with that).
Enjoy Life!

Actually, I'm really not going to bother "retorting" anything at all.
I just wish to express my amusement at yet another self-proclaimed
psychic Christian. It's amazing the things you think you know about
what goes on in the minds of others. Don't feel bad, though, most of
us have been there at least once, if not twice. :-)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
And yet you've actually--really--bothered retorting to my reply.
You see, your own words contradict what you are actually doing.
I'm not intent on being personally critical of you, but rather
am trying to draw your attention to your talk of suicide. See?
>I just wish to express my amusement at yet another self-proclaimed
>psychic Christian.
That is good that you're amused. Perhaps further amusements will
help you to temporarily cope with, distract you from, your manic
depression based on your self-described contemplation of suicide.
>It's amazing the things you think you know about
'T is one thing to think. 'T is quite another thing to know.
>what goes on in the minds of others.
If you do not wish to write and post about what's going on in
your own mind, then the logical conclusion is that you should
cease & desist from doing so on these public usenet newsgroups.
That would be the logical conclusion. And yet you write anyway...
>Don't feel bad, though,
Again, your own words betray your own feelings. Feeling *bad*
is what suicidal people do before committing suicide. Get it?
They commit suicide in vain hopes of killing the bad feelings.
Killing the body doth not kill the soul, neither its troubles.
>most of
>us have been there at least once, if not twice. :-)
Smiley emoticons don't undo what you have written and posted.
It's a matter of permanent record. Thus I'll quote you again:
On Thu, 24 May 2007, Merlyn Blaize <mbl...@camelot.com> lamented:
>Like actors watching one another from backstage, our true selves watch
>each other as we submerge ourselves into this world and then back out
>again. To our true selves, these lives are but fancies made to pass
>the time, to give us a sense of "happening" which our knowledge has
>made virtually impossible. That means we've learned so much at that
>stage of the game, that our only choice to keeping the "newness" of
>our lives is to forget who we are and to sink into this world and to
>live without any of the knowledge we've obtained over there.
>It's very depressing when something goes wrong and you remember
>everything. These bodies we use here, they weren't designed to be
>emotionally equipped for handling the full knowledge of "what we
>really are". Most of those who remember everything end up killing
>themselves so they can start again in a body that is once more
>ignorant of its origins. It's one of the most difficult things to
>remain in this life, in this world, when you remember what it really is.
>Yet even that, worthless as it is, is a test which we force ourselves
>to endure. All in the name of existing...
Over the years, I've lost half a dozen close friends to suicide.
Most had health, money, education, and a good future. Go figure?
I'm certain that many others who are reading this can relate to
what I'm saying. When people say things like "most of those who
remember everything end up killing themselves", that's a deadly-
serious red flag for a suicide. There are suicide hot-lines and
websites. You might consider what you've written and why anyone,
any conscientious observer that is, reading what you've written
*must* conclude that you've got something more serious going on
inside your head, to wit suicidal depression, than you seem to
be willing to acknowledge. If you can't admit it publicly, for
your fragile ego, then the least you can do is be honest with
yourself, before all your talk of "killing themselves" (which,
in context, is classic projection for "oneself", ergo killing
*yourself*) leads to the incurable deed. Just trying to help.
Sincerely,
Daniel Joseph Min

Although I appreciate what you are trying to do, that kind of exhortation
doesn't do any good.
HOW does the Lord Jesus Christ help? By giving us self-respect. Each of us
is an immortal individual, loved by God, and precious in His sight. (GROW
wisdom, also Desiderata) It was James who said that even saying this is not
enough. We need to get in there beside the suffering person - pretty
impossible from the other side of the world (I am in Bendigo, Australia.)
Have you ever been depressed, Daniel? Depression is an insidious thing. It
warps our thinking in spite of ourselves. I inherited it - a genetic
defect. All the "right thinking" in the world won't change that. Positive
thinking or counting our blessings just bounces off. Fortunately, I am
not too bad, and I have learned to cope. When suicidal thoughts came to
me, I was able to beat them. But some are worse. BTW, in a depression
group, mention of suicide or anything relating to self-harm is a "spoiler";
it is flagged in the Subject: line to warn susceptible individuals.
To the OP, I can only say: you have a right to be here. You are important to
me. Hang in there, and take one day at a time. You may not be able to
beat depression entirely, but you can live each day until bedtime and let
tomorrow look to itself, as Jesus, psychologists and many others have
said. "Each day is a new life to the wise man" was the stay of one person.
I like Desiderata, which encourages the same attitude. If religion helps,
I am not decrying it. From here, I can't tailor the Christian message to
your needs. Talk to friends; get out in the sunlight if you can. The same
Vitamin D that is generated in sunlight and cures rickets also helps the
kind of depression known as SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder.)

Whatever floats your boat, Doug L. In careful consideration of what
you've written in your reply here, in addition to a cursory glance at
the archived records of all "Doug Laidlaw" usenet-newsgroup articles
(whether these are all you, else referring to you, is another matter):
I believe that you're a seriously-depressed person, and that you've
managed to cope with your depression sufficiently enough to abstain
from committing suicide. Good for you. I applaud your perseverance,
if not so much your unsavory methodology and communications skills.
If "Merlyn Blaize" should benefit from your reply, then more power
to you. The whole idea is to help convince this soul not to commit
suicide, because the act of committing suicide is definitely murder,
self-murder which cannot be undone. Very bad karma in the afterlife.
Better to accept the bad karma we all have to work off sooner than
later. The longer one evades that which is inevitable, the harsher
God's perfect Judgment becomes. Ask any one, any soul, sojourning
in the circles of Heaven & Hell; they'll be the first to tell you,
or as the great Hebrew-Xian-Roman historian Flavius Josephus aptly
described this in his Discourse to the Greeks Concerning Hades I-i:
"the just are guided to the right hand, and are led
with hymns, sung by the angels appointed over that
place, unto a region of light, in which the just
have dwelt from the beginning of the world; not
constrained by necessity, but ever enjoying the
prospect of the good things they see, and rejoice
in the expectation of those new enjoyments which
will be peculiar to every one of them, and estee-
ming those things beyond what we have here; with
whom there is no place of toil, no burning heat,
no piercing cold, nor are any briers there; but
the countenance of the and of the just, which they
see, always smiles them, while they wait for that
rest and eternal new life in heaven, which is to
succeed this region. This place we call The Bosom
of Abraham.
"But as to the unjust, they are dragged by force to
the left hand by the angels allotted for punishment,
no longer going with a good-will, but as prisoners
driven by violence; to whom are sent the angels
appointed over them to reproach them and threaten
them with their terrible looks, and to thrust them
still downwards. Now those angels that are set over
these souls drag them into the neighborhood of hell
itself; who, when they are hard by it, continually
hear the noise of it, and do not stand clear of the
hot vapor itself; but when they have a near view of
this spectacle, as of a terrible and exceeding great
prospect of fire, they are struck with a fearful
expectation of a **future judgment**, and in effect
punished thereby: and not only so, but where they
see the place [or choir] of the fathers and of the
just, even hereby are they punished; for a chaos
deep and large is fixed between them; insomuch that
a just man that hath compassion upon them cannot be
admitted, nor can one that is unjust, if he were
bold enough to attempt it, pass over it."

Doug has been a supportive member of this group for a long time. His
communication skills are excellent, and neither he, nor his methodology, is
unsavory. Doug recognizes that not all people sing from, or even understand,
the same choirbook, and in his message I see an effort to communicate in
terms the original poster is likely to understand. In that, I think his
effort is more likely than yours to succeed. I say this not in disparagement
of your message or beliefs, but in recognition that not everyone who needs
help is going to understand the form in which you try to provide it.

opinions of others who share your opinion of the aforesaid;
albeit I respect individual opinions well-above collective
opinions, & especially admire those who question authority
(the latter being imperfect, of the lower-case 'a' variety).
>Doug recognizes that not all people sing from, or even understand,
>the same choirbook, and in his message I see an effort to communicate in

And you are Douglass' unofficial spokesman in this regard?
Speaking only for myself, no man speaks for me, except for
me. Whether or not Doug Laidlaw takes umbrage with you, or
even him-self, usurping his sovereignty, that's his affair.
> In that, I think his
>effort is more likely than yours to succeed.
I wholeheartedly agree with your thoughts in this regard,
considering Blaize's schismatic rejoinder to the caveats;
echo the caveat that the Ten Commandments & Golden Rules
are Universal, meaning they always apply to everyone, no
matter what that soul believes or disbelieves regardless.
> I say this not in disparagement
>of your message or beliefs, but in recognition that not everyone who needs
>help is going to understand the form in which you try to provide it.
Then we agree on the point you've made in the above sentence
also. I.e., understanding being key to vanquishing confusion,
to whatever form one's actualization assumes pleasing or not.
Thus seeing one's own ego-self objectively, unlocks the door.
But the door to what? The Light does not absolve us of karma.
Every soul-incarnate has, is, his or her own ever-developing
religion. My religion teaches that all men are Created equal.
I devoutly believe that, and I do devoutly believe that that
belief is prerequisite to understanding. Legions do disagree,
and I respect their disagreement, as I expect they will mine.
