How am I to know you, sambuddhassa?
How can I apply your truths in life?
How to take your wisdom to the highest
And from it true brilliance derive?

Bearing burden of ancestral sadness -
Whole lifestyles, whole tribes destroyed -
To the point that it looks just like madness
To the followers of Hume and Freud

How to bring to light the ancient sorrows
That they all propitiated be?
How to forge into a bright tomorrow
Where life can be joyful, loving, free?

How to recollect the ancient lessons,
That the errors not repeat again,
And then bring life into effervescence -
Bright as morning grass in silver rain -

How to master yet enjoy desire,
How to soar and to reverse the fall,
How to fully overcome samsara
Yet to make it livable for all -

How to bring into the world one's brightest
And at the same time transcend the world -
How to take my contributions highest
While existing outside the herd -

How to honor world's and nature's beauty
And be pervious to spirit's depths,
And without hurting or polluting
To live fully, truly, with each breath?

Flying at the speed of light the object
Will acquire infinity of mass:
How much it would take to move the conjured
Self if such a thing I may possess?

Seeking to become a real master -
And, with mind and passion intertwined,
Someday I will reach you, sambuddhassa,
And with light of goodness I will shine.
