Lord Robert & Lady Annabel
The small saloon was the designated name of the back sitting-room
commonly used by my Lady Merivale when there were no visitors or only
intimates to entertain. At present, she sat there in the company of
her Mama, and her youngest sister Maria. They were much alike,
although Miss Maria was held to be the greater beauty. Her classic
profile was framed by a golden cloud of curls, while her melting blue
eyes and sweet arched mouth would surely break many hearts once the
schoolroom was abandoned. However, although Mama was very liberal in
permitting Miss Maria to attend a few informal parties, at sixteen it
was to be another year yet before her presentation in Court, which
caused the young lady in question to act in an exceedingly unbecoming
manner at times. Today however, Miss Maria was on her best behaviour,
as although he was not present in the room, she stood in awe of My
Lord Robert, husband to her sister Annabel.
They had not been married above six months, for most of this time had
been spent in Europe, Paris, Rome and Venice. Robert had spared no
expense in showering his Lady with all her heart desired, and it was
only a wish on My Lady's part to see her Mama once more that had
brought the happy pair to London once more, and here they were
ensconced in My Lord's town house.
Her curls were not quite so fair as her sister's, and her eyes not so
vivid a blue, but she was allowed to be a very well-looking young
woman of some nineteen summers. They made a pretty sight, chattering
together and partaking of some light refreshments, when a footstep was
heard on the stairs, followed an instant later by My Lord himself
entering their saloon.
"Do I intrude," he smiled disarmingly as he looked round the room.
"Not at all," replied his Lady, "Would you care to join us?" She
smiled at him, not seeming to notice the hitherto unseen look of
determination in his eyes, which set Miss Maria a-quake, and which
caused her Mama to cast a glance in her elder daughter's direction.
"Thank you, my dear," he replied, "however my errand is with your
mama." he turned and bowed, "I will not stand on ceremony Madam, "
(again that devastating smile), "but my coach is standing about to
embark on some errands for me, and as I noticed your own carriage is
not about, I wondered if you might wish to make use of mine. That and
my secretary John are at your service should you desire them. I beg
of you however, not to cut short your visit on this account, but
rather to allow them to stand ready for you."
Lady Annabel frowned slightly at this, however Mama, who had a great
understanding of husbands and their ways, beamed on Sir Robert, "Why
My Lord, how excessive thoughtful of you. I was just thinking that I
should have let my carriage stand, for it looks to rain before we are
half-way home." She smiled apprehensively at Annabel, "We must be
off, my love," and, as if forgetting Annabel's new and exalted married
state, added, "Be a good, obedient girl."
Miss Maria too, was nothing loth to cut short her visit, and the
ladies took their leave. "How could you be so rude to poor Mama," said
Annabel with hauteur, once the pair had left. "Am I to understand my
family is not welcome in your house, Sir ?" "Quite the opposite, my
dear," replied her husband, "A very discerning lady or superior
sensibility is your Mama. I have no quarrel with her." He paused for
a moment, and leaning one arm on the mantle, turned to gaze upon his
wife. My Lord Robert nobly upheld the Merivale tradition of good
looks. He was of a reasonable height, with a strong and elegant body.
His hair was brown, as were his eyes, which could twinkle merrily one
moment and flash as cold as steel the next. "Do you think you could
spare me a moment of your time, Annabel," said My Lord in a most civil
tongue.
The scowl still lingered on her brow, "I'm going to luncheon with Lady
Mallory," she informed him.
"It is not yet time for luncheon," observed Lord Robert. "No, but I
have to change my gown." "That is naturally important," agreed the
Earl, "Nevertheless, I will ask you again to accompany me to the
library." They had exited the hall, and Annabel had a foot on the
stair. The Earl held open the library door. Up went Annabel's chin,
"I may as well tell you, My Lord, that I'm feeling cross, and when I'm
cross I don't talk to people."
Across the wide stretch of hall the Earl's eyes met and held hers.
"However, you will not put me to the trouble of fetching you," he said
pleasantly. The chin came down a little, and the smouldering eyes
showed a certain speculative interest. She hesitated, then swung
round and walked into the library. The Earl closed the door. Annabel
seated herself on the arm of a large brown leather chair, "I did not
mean to be disobliging, but you made me so furious," she said. "Well,
I will apologise for that," replied My Lord, good-humouredly, "Yet I
have for a se'en-night wished for some private conversation with you
my dear," he continued, "and invariably you are out or entertaining."
"Surely it cannot be of such great import." "Mayhap not," said My Lord
with great deliberation, "however, there
are one or two things I would like cleared up." He smiled and drew a
sheaf of bills from his pocket. "I think - yes, I really think you
must explain some of these.", he said as he gave them to her.
On the top lay a sheet of John's neat figures. Annabel gazed in
dismay at the horrifying total. "Are they - all mine," she
faltered. "All yours," said his Lordship calmly. Annabel swallowed.
"I didn't mean to spend as much as that. Indeed, I can't imagine how
it can have come about." The Earl took the bills from her and began to
turn them over. "No," he agreed, "I have often thought it very odd
how bills mount up, and yet," he looked down at her, and his eyes
seemed to her to be more piercing by the second, "What puzzles me a
trifle -" "I know," she interrupted, looking at her feet, "You wish
to know why I have not paid for them myself." "Well," said My Lord,
"my lamentable memory must be at fault for I thought I had made
adequate provision."
Annabel drew a quick breath that could almost have been a sob, "You
know you made provision," she said gruffly. He laid the bills down.
"Pharaoh"," he enquired? "Not entirely," she said, eager now to
confess, "Bassett, too." "I see." The note of amusement had left his
voice. She ventured to raise her eyes and saw something very like a
frown on his face. "Are you dreadfully angry," she blurted out.
The frown cleared. "Not at all, my dear, anger is too fatiguing an
emotion. I was wondering how best to cure you of gambling." "Cure
me," said Annabel. "You can't. It's in the blood, poor Papa, you
know," she said knowingly. "Nevertheless my dear," said My Lord, "Poor
papa notwithstanding, I intend to make the effort." He turned to face
her. "Come here."
She approached timidly, wondering what could possibly be in store for
her. Lord Merivale rested one hand on her shoulder, and with the
other tilted her face upwards. "If you can no more exercise control
than a nursery miss, then that is how you shall be treated. Kindly
bend over the arm of the chair."
Annabel's eyes rounded in horror as she slowly began to comprehend his
purpose. "But you cannot mean..." she stammered. "If you mean do I
intend to give you a lesson you will hopefully not forget for some
time, you are correct, my love," said the Earl with some amusement.
"To be precise, you are going to bend over the arm of the chair, and
bare your nether regions for a good spanking." Annabel made as if to
speak, but the Earl raised a warning finger. "You may do this
voluntarily, or I shall call the butler to hold you. Is that clear."
Without waiting for a reply he gently led her to the leather armchair
on which she had previously been so haughtily perched. This seemed to
break the spell of silence, and she pulled away and turned to face
him. "Please," she said incoherently, "You cannot mean...".
My Lord Robert looked on her implacably and made to ring for the
butler. "No," she gasped, "Oh you are a monster." The Earl smiled
openly now, "Oh no, my dear, I merely perform my husbandly duties."
Annabel gazed at him in stunned horror. "Shall we commence, my dear,"
he smiled. My lady turned towards the leather chair, her shoulders
shivering with silent sobs, glancing round the room searching in vain
for some escape. "Oh please, My Lord," begged poor Annabel, "I pray
you forgive me." "Of course I forgive you my dearest," said Lord
Robert, as he guided her ever forward to the chair, "and when
atonement has been made, we shall never refer to the matter again."
He continued, "But," pushing Annabel onto the chair, "atonement there
will be."
By now Annabel was sobbing openly. "Come my dear," said My Lord,
"Kneel on the chair and lean over the arm. Further now, that's right,"
he directed her. "Stretch your arms down to touch the floor -
that's it." And with Annabel in position, the Earl swept her skirts
over her back. Her petticoats and chemise quickly followed suit, to
the accompaniment of soft moans of shame from My Lady.
My Lord was no stranger to the intricacies of female undergarments,
and with a few deft movements, poor Annabel's bottom was prettily
perched on top of the chair as bare as the day she was born. Lord
Robert stepped back a fraction to admire the sight, and a truly pretty
one it was. Soft white supple skin, with nary a blemish, openly
inviting all kinds of intimacies. Involuntarily the Earl found
himself stroking gently the soon-to-be ravaged flesh, stroking and
kneading and stroking and kneading, until My Lady's sobs had quietened
to little irrepressible shudders. What new and exciting feelings was
he awakening in her bosom?
Of a sudden, My Lord recollected himself, "Well, to business," he
said. "I propose to let you off quite leniently my dear," said Lord
Robert. "I shall give you one stroke for every one hundred guineas of
the bills, and a further one stroke for every hundred you gambled and
lost." A slight pause. "Well, what have you to say to that," he asked
somewhat impatiently.""Oh beloved, please," faltered Annabel. "Enough
pleading, for you try my patience sorely girl. What is the
total?""T-t-twelve hundred of bills, and twelve again lost My Lord,"
sobbed Annabel. "Very well, let us commence - you will count each
one, is that clear. If you miss a number, or do not speak it, that
will be extra. Do you understand?" "Y-yes My Lord," stammered
Annabel.
Lord Robert placed his left hand in the small of her back, quickly ran
his right hand over her, and with a swift movement raised it, and
brought it crashing down on Annabel's right buttock. "Oooh," shrilled
Annabel, "Oh, oh, one." A pale blotchy imprint swelled. The Earl
regarded it with interest. "Your nether cheeks commence to blush, my
dear," he smiled, "Let us see how rosy they can become," and so saying
he delivered four sharp cracks covering all Annabel's right buttock.
A split-second pause to assess the pretty sight - then picking up a
steady rhythm, My Lord Robert played a neat tattoo, ensuring no inch
of poor Annabel's right buttock was less than a burning shade of pink.
The count had reached to ten, and Annabel was in some considerable
distress, when with a wicked smile My Lord finished off the right side
with the two hardest slaps yet, grimacing in pain as his hard hand
came into sharp contact with poor Annabel's beleaguered flesh, causing
her to scream, "Oh Aaaaah, oh twelve."
My Lord paused to survey his work, and smiled at the sight of his
wife's pretty bottom, end up in the air - one half a virginal white,
and the other a blushing red. "How do you feel, my dear," he enquired
solicitously. My Lady's sobs had calmed somewhat, and she managed to
whisper, "Oh my Lord, I feel so strange - it hurts so, and yet I
feel a strange tingling course through me." She sniffed. "I feel very
lop-sided too," she said with a half-smile.
"Well, that is shortly to be remedied," said My Lord, "however, my
hand is tiring now, and I shall have to wield some instrument." He
paused as if in thought, and crossed to the desk, from which he
withdrew a light leather tawse some ten inches long. He crossed back
to Annabel who had hidden her face in fear. "Oh, and while I think of
it," he said absentmindedly, "I never heard eleven called, so we will
commence from that number." "Oh no, no," moaned Annabel, but to no
avail. Placing his left hand in the small of her back once more, he
set about her left buttock with his tawse. So they continued to
twenty, by which time Annabel's left buttock was as rosy as her right.
"And now," said Lord Robert, "To finish off the punishment, I shall
keep tally, and you, my love speak aloud what it is you are not to do
again." And with that the Earl delivered the remaining four blows with
all his might, splaying the ends of the tawse equally across both
buttocks for the first two, which landed one across the top of the
legs, and one on the under part, the fleshiest part of the bottom, as
my Lady shrieked in pain, and cried "Oh My Lord, I will not gamble any
more. Oh, I swear it. "Annabel parted her legs as she jerked upwards,
allowing My Lord to deftly place the last two strokes deep in My
Lady's valley of pleasure, causing that young madam to break into
uncontrollable tears and sink sobbing to the floor.
The instant he was done, My Lord relinquished his tawse, loosened his
clothing, and grasping her tender bottom with both hands commenced a
rough kneading until My Lady's sobs had quietened to shivers of
excitement, whereupon Lord Robert rammed home his member and worked
away until My Lady screamed once more, but with pleasure this time, as
My Lord completed his husbandly duties on his beautiful wife's
well-chastised posterior.

Ever the perfect gentleman, My Lord Robert assisted his wife to her
feet, instructing her to make haste as Lady Mallory's luncheon party
awaited, and My Lady obeyed, and derived much pleasure from the
tingling reminder of that morning's work when she was obliged to take
her seat. So much so, that she took her leave of the party quite
early in order to announce demurely to My Lord Robert that she would
in future endeavour to be everything he wished her to, but that
should she fail she would accept
any chastisement of her Lord's choosing with pleasure and gratitude.
