When I was younger I loved going on family vacations. We'd all load up in the
station wagon and drive off for Disneyland or some lesser place.
Not having school was a real treat, but eating cheap restaurant food and
swimmingin hotel pools was also good. And at the top of my list was that the
usual strict family rules were suspended in favor of more lax judgements.
This meant NO SPANKINGS for minor offenses and no curfews or school problems
to worry about. But one time, when I was 14-years-old I got a dose of reality
on a vacation to San Francisco.
On the way, I got into it with my kid sister and despite Mom's warnings from
the front seat I ended up pinching Kelli hard enough to make her cry.
Mom slapped me and just said, "Wait until tonight."
I was scared but soon forgot about it as we checked into our hotel and went
shopping. Everything was fine (the wax museum was scary but cool) until we hit
a tourist shop where Mom found a "joke" paddle.
Some "joke." It was a wooden thing like a a ping pong paddle with the words
"Board of Education" on one side and an illustration of a girl getting her bare
bottom paddled on the other side.
The sales lady and my Dad thought it was funny and cute, but we girls
(especially ME) blushed in fear when mom bought that paddle. I knew I'd was in
trouble and Mom was just itching to try out her new toy....
There was no real privacy back at the hotel, so I found myself in the living
room, having my shorts and underpanties taken down in front of the family.
Mom took me over her lap and I recall feeling disoriented as I'd never been
spanked away from home...and I'd been so scared all day after she bought that
awful unfunny paddle!
Mom spanked me real hard over her lap and even though I was crying from the
start she'd aske questions like, "This paddle has some sting?" Or, "Does this
new paddle hurt more than the hairbrush?" and I had to stammer out "yes" and
"no" I tried to be honest, cuz lying meant even MORE spanking in those
days....
My siblings were actually laughing, along with Mom and Dad, at my "quiz show"
spanking where I had to answer so many questions about our new paddle.....but I
didn't find it one bit funny.
It was just another hard, bare bottomed blistering for me, in front of
everyone, which made our San Francisco vacation unfavorably memorable...
But you can bet I never acted up on the road again, I didn't want another
"tourist paddle shopping trip".....
Anyone else ever spanked on vacation?

PS My kid sister did get a taste of the new paddle that trip....Mom was in a
mood....but Mom forgot the paddle when it got kicked under a bed during my
sisters dancing and when we got home it was back to the hairbrush or belt for
us all.
