Wow -- it's great to hear so many fondly remembered voices still out
there. Life here is good, though ever-changing and ever-busy. I'm no
longer married (long story, not for public newsgroups), but still happily
poly, at least so much as someone living in the middle of nowhere with no
time for a love life can be poly. ;)

Hi Dave, yes, life is pretty good. I enjoy the job I've managed to
keep for 7 years now, live in a nice place, get on well with family
and work colleagues. Most of my free time is taken up with various art
activities. I'm into digital painting and 3D at the moment. You might
be interested in some photographic stuff I did a bit over a year ago -
gives an idea what I've been up to. Some if it is sort of related to
sex, just to stay relevant. All a bit grim but I was playing it up a
bit (sometimes). Hope all is well with you too. I have connections
with Calgary these days (a minor contributor at istockphoto, whose HQ
is in Calgary)

I hope so. Having been in a situation not so very different from his
for a long time I have a lot of sympathy for him. In fact my ex once

Well that is just downright good to hear! I'm just starting my 7th year
with my current employer myself. I have gone off and moved though, not
living in Calgary anymore although I'm back every couple of months to
visit friends+family+etc.

human being to save my life. I've gotten a few lucky shots, but never
anything planned.
I've actually got one cat that looks very similar, and if you can handle
the insanity, I wouldn't call a cat defeat. Nine cats is defeat. Heck,
even six is probably over doing it...

Agent places the cursor at the top -- but it is not with the intention
of encouraging top posting. Agent was originally developed as a Usenet
news reader, rather than an email client, and the reason for placing the
cursor at the top was to encourage the responder to go down through the
quoted portion of the previous message deleting anything not proximately
relevant to the response.

It's been so long since I've used OE that it's not entirely clear in my
memory how you'd do that. I think it had to do with not including a
signature, since it was put at the top and the quoted post came after
that, but I couldn't be sure of that.
As for posting to newsgroups, you could say it's a little like foreplay.
You start at the top of the post or partner, paying attention to some
parts and ignoring others[0], all the while working your way gradually
down to the bottom. Once at the bottom, go back to the top and start
again, just to make sure you didn't miss out anything and that you're
satisfied with the results. Well, if it was foreplay, it's the partners
satisfaction with the results that's important rather than your own, but
you get the idea...
[0] With a news posting, I'd snip the ignored part out. With foreplay, I
would just leave the specific part alone.
