Does anybody get turned on by watching their significant other with somebody
else? To me it's just hot as hell and just thinking about it makes me hard.

Me, too. I like watching, but it doesn't have to be my significant
other. I am a voyeur in general.

That's not the case for me, but then I've never understood the
fascination with threesomes, either. I mean, I've had plenty of them,
but they're not any hotter to me than one-on-one sex, and in some ways,
they're more trouble.

I find this opinion curious. How are they more trouble

It might not be an opinion; it might be an experience.

I have plenty of opinions about my experiences. :-)

Sometimes, a threesome is awkward. Sometimes, having three people there
keeps two of the people (not always the same people) from connecting on
some level they want to connect on. Sometimes, the mechanics of sex
with three are weird -- for instance, one time I was on my back, someone
had zir head between my legs, and someone was fucking that person from
behind. The bed didn't know which way to bounce, and we ended up feeling
like we were on a defective trampoline. :-)

Sometimes, it's distracting for me to have someone stimulating me when
I'm trying to do someone else. For the same reason, I can rarely be
bothered with 69.

And hell, sometimes, having three to a bed means you have to buy a
bigger bed.

It's an assessment based on experience; that is clear.

I have never had a threesome...not opposed to them...has just never
happened. I *have* thought the same things that you mentioned above
were possible difficulties. I know what you mean about 69...for me
it's almost like the sensations cancel each other out.

About a month ago I was talking to L, who joked that with as many
people as had expressed interest in me of late (at that point there
were 4 men and possibly 1 woman) that I was going to have to cover the
bedroom floor in mattresses.

I can't say how many of those people are still interested today...I've
managed to piss off a fair number of them in the past week. I can't
really call it a low point in my relationship abilities...it's more
like me being tired of various crappy treatment/attitudes. One of the
guys is off my list regardless...I just don't trust him...that was
decided several weeks ago already.

Yeah, exactly, or at least, I get distracted by the mouth on me, and
lose track of what I was doing with my own mouth, or vice versa.

Hee! We've thought about that. We're three big people, and we fit okay
on a cal king turned sideways, but it almost fills up our room, and
we've half-joked about just removing everything else from the room and
having a mattress custom-built to fit. We'd have to remove the closet
door, too. :-)

Eep! How'd that happen?

I'd much (much much MUCH) rather have a few people in my life who treat
me really well than dozens who treat me like crap.

I have, and it can be distracting. However, if you're close friends,
then you should be able to work out ad hoc protocols without a lot of
trouble. For example, you can agree that two of you will always work at
pleasuring one partner, instead of trying to make it a distracting 1-1-1
chain.

Geez, that sounds decidedly un-sexy. But the principle works, and we've
found that the double effort of pleasuring one partner is especially
pleasant.

They can be worth the trouble if you approach it right. Sometimes
picking a random partner might be an issue because you're not
comfortable with each other yet. But the fascination comes from two
things: one is that it's atypical. If one partner is great, then two
must be, um, twice as great.

The other is that one can have stimulation in a new and different way
than one normally has. You can be kissing one partner while the other is
biting your thigh or something, which is not a combination of sensations
that one normally gets.

I think this probably ties in to the whole discussion going on
currently about people checking in here and reading, but not posting.
I'm having plenty of sex and relationship stuff going on, just don't
think anybody would be that interested in hearing about it. And since
much of it revolves around a poly situation, well I'm just lesslikely
to post here than say, alt. poly.

Here goes...the cast of characters are me, the DH, L (old
relationship), M (new relationship), and D(male) and D(female). D and
D are married. D (female, is bi-curious).

I more or less broke off/suspended sexually related stuff with L about
a year ago. While the level of sexual activity was fine for him, it
wasn't for me and after talking about stuff again, it wasn't going to
change. We have remained friends...and occassionally one of us will
talk about what could have been. Well, a couple of weeks ago I came to
a decision that even the friendship was in trouble, so I told him so
then and the discussion continued this week. Well...discusssion mostly
on my part. He hasn't been very verbal about the whole thing...which
means he's probably shut down emotionally and can't deal with it. Oh,
yay.

DH...got into an argument with him yesterday morning about something
relatively stupid (Halloween costumes for the kids). It devolved from
there into old arguments about the way we have disagreements. Blech.
Didn't get it resolved.

D(male)...I've sort of known him for about 5 or 6 years...off and on
acquantance/low level friendship lets say. Always thought he was
interesting...never tried or hinted at anything. Well, he approached
me/started flirting with me about a month ago. I made sure to discuss
the "we are both married/I don't cheat" thing before it went beyond
that. We talked about it. He told me it was not a problem with
D(female, wife). In fact, D(female, wife) was interested in me as
well. We snogged a bit, and I told him that he must absolutely call
her if he wanted it to go any further. He did. She wasn't happy. I was
rather annoyed with him...he didn't tell me until I'd snogged with him
a bit more. A few weeks later they and some other friends and the DH
and I were on vacation together and he made a pass at me (tried to
grab a part of my anatomy) out of the blue, when no one else was
about. I backed away and left.

D(female). From 2 sources (though not specifically from her) is
interested in me. Didn't seem to have any issues on the vacation, but
I never got a chance to make sure things were ok as a result of the
actions of her DH. She doesn't know he was somewhat untruthful with
me, or that he made the pass at me later. I value her friendship more
than I have an interest in anything else with her.

M...The only person I haven't pissed off/potentially pissed off
lately.

Yeah, I get that.

I see elsewhere that you managed that one. I've snipped the rest, but I
read it, and I hope it all works out for the good.

I haven't had the opportunity, but the idea is one that I've found
appealing.

When I was young, a 69 was very exciting. In fact coming together
was *really* exciting.

But I found that when I was older, it wasn't quite the same. I
couldn't enjoy the feelings I was having because of the other
feelings I was having.

What I mean is that both giving and getting were *very* erotic,
but nevertheless, there was a certain kind of cancellation going
on.

On thinking about the change I realized that when I was young
the erotic feelings on having sex were ENORMOUS. Those were
the days when I could have two or three orgasms in an evening.

I would expect that two could drive the third one totally
crazy -- if they went about it with some care and took their
time...
