A great memory.
Does anyone remember WW1 vets selling "Buddy Poppies" on Memorial
Day. We used to call it Decoration Day, because people would
decorate graves of WW1 vets.

You mean they don't sell poppies any more?

I was talking to my wife last nite trying to find our what exactly was
the original date for Decoration Day. You see we have one calendar that
shows it on May 30 and another one shows it on May 31. I was trying to
determine which day to fly the flag. So being connected to the internet,
I looked it up and now I am flying the flag today the real Memorial Day.
However, I do not see any other flags out in my neighborhood. It seems
it won't be long before people forget why they have the day off the last
Monday in May. I always looked forward to the parade we had in my home
town when I was young.
