Anna Rea, born Ana Clover, wass the wife of George Rea (b12 Sept 1736
d 1813 in NJ). Anna, who lived around with the executors of her
late husband's estate, was not satisfied with the bequest of 21 pounds
annually, and this was increased. The family bible of George's father
Alexander, containing his family record, and Anna took it with her as
she moved from executor to executor. One day, as a bible class was
being held, and one of the boys was using this family bible, which
angered Anna, who said people should not know how many children she had
had nor their ages, and she tore out the pages with the records, and
burned them.
I am unable, thus, to tell you the date and plac3 of birth of my
immigrant ancestor Alexander, nor of most of his children. And so
goes the course of genealogy!
