Tiny Tafel question

Can anyone explain why the Tiny Tafel feature on the Brother's
Keeper 5.1 software I have only lists families within 8 generations
or so from me (in other words, the earliest people listed were born
mostly in the 1680s)? Is it supposed to ignore earlier generations?
If so, why have several Tiny Tafels (like those of Ray Sears or
Stephen Chinn) appeared recently with dates prior to the 17th century?
Were they entered manually, rather than automatically? Also, even
within this apparent 8-generation limit, some families seem not to
have been included, which makes me wonder what's going on.
