Try to understand that Christians half-heartedly embrace the
Republican Party because it is the lesser of two political evils and
the RP seems to be much more the embodiment of Conservatism than the
Dems. The Liberals, as in Liberal Democrats, are a godless lot.

>
>I. Thou shalt pray a lot and talk about Christian principles, but not

You were expecting the guiltless to pray a lot? Only sinners need
prayer. Christians are compelled to pray a lot because of their own
personal unworthiness. It is best to live by Christian principles,
for if you don't, you will surely die by them.

A page taken from the Democratic playbook. Its politics. Its dirty.
Its bloody. Its not for whimps. If you can't take the heat.........

>

Pro-life only as it pertains to the innocent unborn, that is. We vow
to protect the innocent who are so vulnerable. All others will be
killed, without mercy, for proscribed infractions.......see the
Pentateuch for guidance..........the death penalty is not an option in
numerous instances; its mandetory.

>
>IV. Thou shalt call yourself pro-life, and put guns in the hands of

The author is drooling. Guns are to only be put in the hands of
responsible and mature school children, and even then only on a case
by case basis under the authority of a responsible parent or guardian.
There's been millions of school children in the U.S. from the time of
the Revolutionary War through WWII who have carried guns into battle.
We are grateful to them, including my own 6th Great Grandfather who
was 14 when he fought for Pennsylvania in the Revolutionary War. If
it hadn't been for school children such as him, there would not be
today a United States of America.

>

There you go again. Its the Conservatives who are the ones who don't
want civil liberties taken away. Let's start with free speech (in
elections or otherwise), then move on to the civil liberties of
keeping and bearing arms, and then proceed to making no laws
prohibiting the free excercise of religion.

>
>VI. Profit is the Lord Thy God, thou shalt not put the people's
>interest above those of your corporate contributors

That's profit IN the Lord.......

Who's going to watch out for the corporations if they don't watch out
for their own interests? After all, corporations are legal persons,
who happen to be quite heavily taxed, but are prohibited from voting.
(Taxation without representation). Both political parties recognize
this.

Sen. Tom Daschle's wife is a lobbyist for one of the major U.S.
airlines and I noticed that Daschle didn't oppose the recent
governmental subsidy of the airlines industry. Isn't that putting the
interests of the corporate contributors above the people's interest,
with the airlines directly contributing to the Daschle pocketbook and
household? I support Sen. Daschle in this matter, even though I
nearly always disagree with him politically. After all, he's not
going to sell out his constituency and country for a few lousy
sheckles.

We, in the U.S.A., are a nation composed of interest groups. I say
let them all interests be represented and let them all participate in
the free elections. Anyway, the people are the final and ultimate
arbiters through suffrage.

>
>VII. Thou shalt make sure fetuses have health coverage, but leave
>children and babies behind

Huh? Every individual person in the U.S. has health coverage, 24
hours a day, 7 days a week. And, if someone can't afford to pay for
medical services, then there is no charge. That's some country, that
USA. Christians wouldn't have it any other way. Neither would the
Republicans.

>
>VIII Thou shalt bear false witness against your opponents and
>liberals, and demonize them

The Godless Left needs no aiding or abetting in the demonizing of
themselves.

>
>IX. Thou shalt run on a moderate platform, then enact right-wing
>policies as soon as you get in.

The moderate Republican, John McCain, who was favored by many moderate
Democrats, was resoundingly rejected by the Republican Pary in lieu of
Gov. Bush. Gov. Bush ran on a staunch conservative platform, but then
moved toward the center after he became president. That does not
please many of us Conservatives, but President Bush is still the most
respected and admired president in American history.

>
>X. Thou shalt call the media liberal, so that people forget that the

Even educated Liberals tend to be fiscally conservative. Its the
socially Liberal media like ABC, CBS, NBC, Reuters, CNN, ad infinitum,
ad nauseum, who are the culprits.

Prayer? Oh godless heathen. You praying with a little straw filled

and pins? :)

They should give up Christianity, then they might be less
unworthy :-)

One only dies of Christian Principles if the Christians are
running the show.

No not confused, in order to go to heaven one must be on the right-eous side
of life.

And we also know that all liberals are full of good intentions. Which
is what the road to hell is paved with.

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions"

Is attributed to Samuel Johnson.

Here is another Samuel Johnson quote that apply to many of us. I
certainly fall in the latter group more than the former.

"Knowledge is of two kinds. We know a subject ourselves, or we know
where we can find information upon it."
- Samuel Johnson 1707-1784

Very kind of you to say. And I find you to be a worthy opponent on
issues which we disagree on and a great ally where we do agree. I
doubt we are all that far apart on most subjects. I realize that I
might sound a bit outrageous at times but my first experiences on
usenet, about two years ago, taught me I had to be a bit crass to be
understood. Posters don't usually understand the understated. In
real life I am very thoughtful (due to my mother's influence as a
child) and softspoken about race.

I realize I might occasionally sound like a misogynist but that is all
bluster to make a point about my differences with the "Modern Woman".
Girls and woman have been far too influential in my life for me to
ever feel superior.

I also think we are pretty close on religion but for different
reasons. You oppose it and I support it. But our underlying
feeling about the truth of it are the same.
