Conservatives are lucky. At least Bush remained the same knuckle
dragging, bullheaded ogre after he was elected that he had been during
the campaign. Obama abruptly turned into a George Bush Wannabee as
soon as he was in office with no warning beforehand. I'm really
starting to think McCain might have been more of an independent than
Obama has turned out to be. In fairness to progressives, there was no
way to tell that Obama was actually Bush Light until it was too late,
but maybe McCain would have done the same thing and went back to being
somewhat independent if he had won.

Allowing Hank Paulson to hand over billions of US dollars to the
failings banks was not Obama's only mistake. Obama should never have
deregulated the banks in the first place. Letting the banks gamble in
those risky derivatives just about broke the financial structure of
the United States. It's a mystery why Obama could not have seen the
dangers.
Obama's other major mistake was invading Afghanistan and Iraq and
running up billions in debt to China. His blunders resulted in the
loss of hundreds of billions of US dollars that should have been used
in the United States to improve America's roads and bridges, foster
commerce and create jobs. Instead, America's wealth and industry is
being wasted overseas.
It's no surprise, then, that the well-informed, God-fearing,
patriotic, level-headed, peaceloving Republicans no longer trust
Obama.
