Portrait of a family/how would you?

I have some old family pics;that have been provided to me.I am trying to set
up;either a series of paintings/one large painting to show how family used to
be.
Prewar 11 back to 1900.When folks lived close enough to have cousins know each
other as well as aunts/uncles/grand parents--family reunions on grandma;s
birthday--weddings--just weekly social visits.
Oil painting.

I am also writing a poem to explain what I paint titled-'Portrait of a Family'
.This was a middle class busines/rural family.typical of its times.

These folks will be --hopefully -representative in dress etc. of thier times
and shall remain nameless of course.What would you choose in sday about 12
paintings ofabout 18"x 24" or would you choose one of about 24"x 36"b ?
I alsohave a house--church--business district pics.
