My only question, after reading the article is what lots of people
avoid answering..."Why are we in Afghanistan after 8 years?"
Documented as a longest war than we've ever had. Can you say:
"Shelved" "put to the side"..."ignored". So we could waste our
resources (american lives and money) on Bush's 'pretend' war.

This is the essential problem with guerrilla war. It's hard to tell
friend from foe. This sort of suggests that either you are prepared to
carpet bomb everyone to get the foe. Or you get out. If you don't
understand the environment then eliminate it. Simplify. That is what
guerrillas do.

Indeed. Eliminating the bureaucratic environments would certainly
simplify. It's not likely to happen so problems will proceed to
tragedy.
