Christ is offering people the gift of righteousness
so that they will be able to go to heaven.
That righteousness offered by Christ is
his own righteousness because that is
what is required for us to live with him.
But Christ is God, one God with his Father,
so how can anyone be as righteous as Christ?
There is a way for us to be that righteous,
and that is the Good News, today and forever:
Christ came to earth as our Righteous Substitute,
and he lived a perfect life without sin for us,
and then he went to the cross for us,
and he died for us and he rose again.
Christ on the cross as our Substitute,
paid for our sins as though his,
so that we could have eternal life
as though his righteousness is ours.
Christ never actually sinned at all,
but he regarded himself on the cross
as though he had our sins,
and we never will be as righteous as Christ,
but he regards us as though we are
so that he gives us eternal life
and a place with him in heaven.
This is how you and your family may be saved:
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ,
that he is your Righteous Substitute
who regards his own righteousness as yours
so that you have eternal life.
