Arrogance and misunderstanding.
|
| |
Obviously I disagree with just about every word in the Path of God thread. I see Baha'is misinterpreting my religion into a pseudo Christian cult of "believe this and be saved" and all the other Baha'is giving unthinking creedence to such arrogance and misinterpretation of the Word of God. My posts are censored because I... more »

Requested card returned
|

I have struggled greatly of late in my life, as I have alluded to here. I lost the greatest love of my life in 2007 from lung cancer. I greived greatly, nearly dying from grief as my heart gave out and I required a quad-ruple by-pass, but over came and accepted the loss in this life. I searched and found a great person to love and continue my journey through... more »

Words and Deeds
|
| |
Dear Friends, There has been a lot of discussion about words and deeds lately on this forum. We are told: "Let deeds and not words be your adorning." But are there occasions when words become deeds? Can the sharing of words be a meritorious act? Best wishes, Suzanne

Sin-covering eye
|
| |
Dear All, I have been puzzling about what it means to have a sin-covering eye. There are many admonitions from 'Abdu'l-Baha and Baha'u'llah which say, essentially, that we should look on others with a "sin-covering eye". It says in Baha'u'llah and the New Era by Esslemont that: "'Abdu'l-Bahá tells us: --... more »

The Path of God
|
| |
Dear friends, I recently said the phrase, "in the Path of God", in a posting here, and, afterwards started reflecting on what exactly this means. It's a phrase which comes up frequently in the Writings, but I was wondering if we're all walking "in the path of God", or just the people who consciously decide that's what they're doing.... more »

How do I get past the evil verses in the Old Testament?
|
| |
...To: soc-religion-ba...@moderators. isc.org I have a question. I am still drawn to the Bahai view that all faiths lead to God and that all the prophets of the world's main religions came from God even after all that's happened. But I have a question about the dark and evil Old Testament of the Bible. In the Old... more »

|

...To: soc-religion-ba...@moderators. isc.org I learned of the Baha'i religion, studied it the best I could, became a card carrying member, then after personal reflection due to changes in my life, mailed my card back to the US NSA. When I was a young man I vowed that if I could not believe everything... more »

Covenant
|
| |
Dear All, There has been some discussion about the Covenant on this forum, and I thought it was such an important subject, it deserves its own thread. Two different Covenants are spoken of in the Baha'i Faith. One is the Eternal Covenant of God, and the other is the Lesser Covenant. A covenant is a pact or agreement between two parties. The eternal... more »

Sense from nonsense
|
| |
An essential human trait is to make sense of nonsense. We attribute qualities to the inanimate, we change our way of thinking based upon the position of stars. We do all manner of rationalization and justification based upon very, very little or no evidence. Tiger gotta hunt, bird gotta fly, man gotta sit and wonder why, why... more »

How is Baha'i Different?
|
| |
Me: "I see Baha'is going down the same path as every other religion, and we will soon forget the bulk of the Baha'i teachings in favor of those teachings which make us complacent, arrogant, silly, just like all religions before us. " A response (posted in the "Manifestations of God" thread): The reason that the Baha'i Faith will never go the route of past... more »
