"Relative" vs "absolute" existence
|

I read this posting: [link] "I believe neither human science nor human religion will ever be perfect. Furthermore I don't think the perfection of science and/or religion is dependent upon human spirituality. Regardless the progress of human... more »

"Twisting" the religion vs. "understanding"
|
| |
Hi. I discovered this post: [link] "Baha'u'llah wants the hearts of men and as Abdul'Baha says some one who may not even have heard of the word Baha'i may in fact be a Baha'i if he practices the teachings, and vice versa if one claims to be an adherent but does not follow the... more »

Fwd: "Forbidden" science
|
| |
Hi Mike, This is just my opinion. I think almost all or all basic research is OK. How do DNA and mRNA interact in cells? Exactly what happens when egg and sperm fuse in a female mammal's womb? How is the new genome built? What more can we know about the interactions of subatomic particles? Exactly how does energy propagate thru the vacuum of space?... more »

"Forbidden" science
|
| |
Hi. Is there some sort of scientific research that a Baha'i would be prohibited from engaging in? One thing that I think of here is what I call "hot" areas of research that involve possibly morally controversial practices. These arise most often in the area of medical science. Namely, stuff like research with stem cells of the embryonic... more »

Eternal inescapable hell?

Hi. I saw this: [link] " Both before and after putting off this material form, there is progress in perfection but not in state. (`Abdu'l-Baha: Some Answered Questions, Page: 237) The personality of the rational soul is from its beginning; it is not... more »

"Excessive" wealth
|
| |
Hi. I've heard about elimination of "excessive" wealth as a key Baha'i principle. But what does that mean? For example, if I went out to make a great big pile of money (millions or billions of dollars) *so I could use it to, say, do scientific research that the academic mainstream didn't want to support, or to try and help the poor, or... more »

World change
|
| |
Hi. I saw this: [link] " "God's purpose is none other than to usher in, in ways He alone can bring about, and the full significance of which He alone can fathom, the Great, the Golden Age of a long-divided, a long-afflicted humanity. *Its... more »

If tomorrow our elected administration adopted your views....
|
| |
Another writer wrote the line to me, the subject line of this thread. That writer fails to notice that no Baha'i elected administration has adopted anyone's views on any matters. I think this is a common misconception among Baha'is, that whatever view they have is that of the Baha'i Faith. There is no official Baha'i View, not Baha'i Interpretation. There... more »

I have reached a plateau..
|
| |
I have reached a plateau in my faith and need to look for answers to questions outside my local area. I don't wish to air my questions here in public and have them misconstrued or used by others as an attack against the faith. Are there knowledgeable persons within the NSA that I can address my questions to? I have turned in my 'card' but in no way... more »
