In desperate need of help.

Play nice, Kiddies.  The lady may be totally legitimate...or she may be an accomplished fraud (we see lots of them these days).
 
I would suggest that anyone who is led to try to help her do so offline, where there will be less intrusion and/or unwanted comments.  That way the benefactor can determine to their needed level of satisfaction how real is the need, and can also give to whatever level they desire...privately.

First, my inquiries were made with the intent of helping this person upon
receiving verifiable information.  What I choose to do or not do for someone
with my money is only between me and God.

Second, the humanity of man is not decided based on nasty emails or equally
disfavorable communications because we happen to disagree about the
method/mode of action.

Finally, it is not inhumane or impractical, in fact rather prudent, to
ascertain the validity of anyone's "truth" for the purpose of obtaining a
clearer picture and determining one's ability to assist in that endeavor.
