Here is an example of major cluelessness for you.

Howie Carr is a conservative radio-talkshow host on WRKO in
Boston, Massachusetts. Anyway, right now Carr is on the air and is the
process of reacting to the Senate's passage of the Defense of Marriage
Act, about how wonderful it is and to hell with the idea of having
same-sex marriages, with his listeners' and his usual gay-bashing thrown
in.

This segment of his show is next going to be followed by Carr's
interviewing with STAR TREK actor George "Mr. Sulu" Takei, who is to
appear in an episode of STAR TREK: VOYAGER to air on Wednesday night.

Mr. Carr seems clueless to the fact that George Takei is gay.

Wonderful way to welcome your guest, Howie!!!

It's the usual way.. ignorance shows itself in some of the most ironic
ways. It's amazing what the dollar can get you into, too <grin>.

Geez, a relevant post! What a breath of fresh air from the Bible
wanking! Thanks, Frank.

What I'd like to know is:

Did George call him on it when he got on the air?

1) It's news to me that George Takei is gay. Am I living under a rock?

2) So, how did the interview go after that? I'd be interesting in hearing!

I'd have to say you are. George Takei came out several years ago.

The hear-say is that he doesn't make it public because of the fear that
promoters will stop calling him for appearances. Also according to the
hear-say, he has always been open in his private life.

The closest I think that he came to coming out was his role in ST:TMP
:-)
