I suspect he can't help it, that he is literally unable to
relate to contexts other than his own.

Actually, this is a predictable if despicable modus operandi
of DAK: spew hate if it's something he didn't organize. At least
Kathryn didn't get an anonymous tipster to the bunko squad --
that I'm aware of.

Eh? I am involved in lots of things I don't organize. In fact I'm a
reluctant organizer; I've only organized things when I felt a personal
need for a group that wasn't being met otherwise. Organizing is a
bitch and I prefer not to do it if there's another way.

I'm sorry that you had such a bad holiday and spent the day being
bitter. You should have joined us at the Mime Troupe show and later
at the Riptide anniversary party. Red Meat played, too. It was a fun
time.
How's that Bagby hiking going?

I'm not in Oregon; I'm in SF and will be for several weeks. I plan to
make it to Bagby as well as some quiet, hidden places where I plan to
camp for a few days with a couple friends in August. Rule #1, don't
go into the Mt Hood wilderness alone to camp.
Meanwhile, the weekend of the 17th we hope to spend a couple days
closer to home, maybe backpacking in the Yolla Bolly.
What do you play? I don't recall you mentioning an instrument.
Assuming that you don't want someone to cheer you on while you play
solitaire.

I play fiddle and button accordion (aka melodeon). For my pro gigs I
play the melodeon. I do Western swing, oldtime, TV themes, Dylan,
waltzes, 60s rock tunes, etc. I do not play accordion music (O Solo
Mio, Beer Barrel Polka, et al). So, I'm sort of the Jason Webley of
SF, but more toward 60s and 70s than 80s.
I'm not sure if Michael Thomas came out to see me or not. Someone who
looked like him a bit (from the photos I've seen anyway) was with a
buddy toward the back. They kept looking at me and I smiled and asked
Nicole the bartender to buy them drinks, but they said no. Oh well.
It was a fun night. I managed to get a couple folks dancing to my
rendition of "Double Shot of My Baby's Love".

Have melodeon, will travel.
