In my case, opportunity. I grew up in a very sheltered environment
in rural South Alabama. For most of my life, I wouldn't known a gay
man if he had come up and pinched my butt ( well, maybe that would've
given it away :-). Even after I figured out I was gay, I didn't
know where to go to meet people or how to spot them. But, when
I did figure that one out, :-) :-) Actually, I'm still not that
good at picking folks out; where do I go to buy my gaydar?

There's really little that compares with a great kisser - all else
seems to evolve from that skill!

I had enjoyed kissing women for more than two decades before I kissed
my first man. At the time I was coming out I revulsed at the thought
of kissing another man. Years of cultural "programming" had done a
job on me. Fortunately my partner was understanding and patient with
me.
I remember the first tentative pecks on the cheek... And then kissing
on the lips... It was only minutes from kissing a man on the lips for
the first time that I threw caution to the winds and indulged in
tongue play... After that experience I couldn't seem to get enough.
And I remember the look on my partner's face when I first kissed him on
the lips... I asked "What's the matter?" and he said "You kissed me!"
to which I nonchalantly replied "So what!" And we proceeded to make up
for "lost time"...
Today I have no problems kissing either a man or a woman, I just
prefer a man.
