Did this hit sitcom strike a responsive chord with any of you? Did
the family remind you of some that you know?

Nope, not a soul. But it did remind me of the plight of men and
fathers.

(Denise) How so, Tom?

Powerlessness. The men in the family, Al and Bud, were totally at the
mercy of both women in the family as well as women in the society as a
whole. Remember "NOMAM"? The organization that Al and his buddies
formed to combat their enslavement by women? Their enslavement was so
total that even that was buffoonery. I know it was meant to be an
exaggeration and a tongue in cheek nod to the female nature of
selfishness and control, but there was not only some truth to it,
there was more truth to it than they could seriously acknowledge.

Comedy is said to consist of truth and pain. That sitcom had both in
spades.

(Denise) Tom, on a MWC episode, Kelly Bundy prepped a suitor to meet
her father. "Talk about sports and body functions," she advised.
"Those are the only things he's interested in."
Is this true of most men?
Would you regard this as misandrist myth or masculine truth?

What do you think? Take your interests as a woman and multiply them
by four and that's men's interests <smile>

Coming from Kelly, I would regard it as masculine truth <smile>

(Denise) I'm not very interested in most sports (although I'll
occasionally watch tennis, soccer, and a few other sports) and don't
like to talk about body functions. I have quite a few and disparate
interests. Al Bundy's number of interests were said to be only two.
Are sports and body functions really the only things that interest
most men?

No. I hate both. Sports are dominated by rich corporate folks and
have lost most of it's reality and excitement as a result. People who
go to minor league games like Grizzlie, or other low wage sports with
little corporate involvement, are the true fans.

Body function concern is a "girl thing".

Any other interests you'd like me to comment on in regards to sex?

How can you even ask a bullshit question like that? You are typing on a
computer designed, programmed and built by men. You drive a car
designed and built by men, over roads designed and built by men, and
live in a house designed and built by men. Women didn't build the
internet. Women didn't invent the world wide web. Don't take a sitcom
and try to claim it's reality.

If you want a sitcom about reality, strangely enough, Roseanne was a
pretty good shot. She may be a woman, but she treated her screen
husband with respect and still got lots of laughs.

license.

(Denise) I know about these things. However, I often hear people talk
about how men are so much more "simple" than women and people,
including other men, indicate that men's interests are limited.

Like so many other willfully clueless-about-men females, you Don't
Grasp
that "simple" is NOT a synonym for "limited interests".

To be blunt, it is WOMEN who have "limited interests", women's pop
media is ample proof of that Truth.

Men's interests include technology, history, science, and far more.
Men are the people who actually take an interest in things in the
world
that are not just right by their navels. Men are the people who build
and
go to all sorts of libraries and museums. Men are the people who made
actual literature and art.

Women's interests tend to stop at Oprah and The Shopping Mall. As
long as there is meaningless gossip...

Now, that men's actual needs in life are simpler than women's, means
that men are easier to get along with, day to day. What do we need ?
Respect. Love. Food. Sex. Sleep. Intellectual stimulation.

Notice that, of those six items, we need women for, at most, only two
of them.

Most sitcoms are a disaster, especially modern sitcoms, when it comes
to models of good relations between the sexes.

Rather, I would suggest the film Field Of Dreams. Ray's wife Annie, is
totally supportive of his needs in that story, and she is by no means
a
shrinking violet, who meekly submits to the iron hand of her man, far
from it, she can mix it up with anyone, but she is, first and
foremost,
understanding and supportive of her husband, thus of her marriage.

Just take this most total of mediums, the internet, as an example.
Who are the most "interesting" people on it? Almost 100% men. Look
at our ruling feminists discussion groups, like alt.feminism, dead as
a door nail. The few that are left came over here.

Women are all about money and how to get it from men.

You missed the most important...procreation. Without that women would
have been weeded out from the population through evolution millions of
years ago.

What "food and love"? Affection is more genuine from men and women
don't even cook food anymore. They are gaining status however as the
slaves of choice for rich men in the work force.
The more things change the mre they stay the same.

If the arts depicted women in an honest and good way that would be
helpful to the species but then they would have to be more background
than foreground with males dominating the story. This is anathema to
our ruling feminists and their sugar daddies who depend on the "big
lie" (feminism) to rule over us men.

I would use a different definition of "trying", there. Also remember,
she's
a leech on her long time ago ex husband.

Bingo.

In large part, yes.

Well, 40 years of family kkkourts, and one sided child custody and
enforced
child supp... alimony has taken that need for many, and dropped it to
a "It'd
be nice, but I won't risk my life for it to be taken away from me at a
whim."

Well, note that "Food" and "Love" are listed as two separate
things.
And, the food doesn't have to be gourmet. It just needs to be good
enough
for the specific man eating it.

Sure.

That's one reason why fewer men are going to the movies...
