Hi, can anyone give me information (or where to find it on the web)
about the excavations and protections made under the French
administration (1809, 1814), in Rome.
I read the book The Eagle and and the Spade by Ronald T. Ridley, but
if I could have some additional information, it would be great.
Also, I'm looking for any information about the works of art that
Napoleon brought back from the Vativan museum in 1797 (especially
classical roman art)
