NOW, when did Brannigan meet Bill Clinton, how old was Brannigan at the time
and how extensive was his contact with Bill Clinton, did he just hear Bubba
play the saxophone?
THOSE are the relevant questions.
NOW, watch him spin, dodge and do the buck and weave.
Amusing...

While we wait for Vince to answer (or dodge) your perfectly justified
questions, maybe you could pass the time for us by telling us a bit
about yourself, David.
The full story of your naval career would, I'm sure, interest many
people. Complete details of your education would be fascinating. We've
only heard snippets from Phil Sinclair and others. We need it from the
horse's mouth [sic].
And tell us more about Kalama.
James
>THOSE are the relevant questions.
True. Very true. The term "relevant questions" can almost be defined
as: "those question David Spencer Hines never answers".
>NOW, watch him spin, dodge and do the buck and weave.
Be a change - all we ever get to do is watch you spin, dodge, buck and
weave.

It is better to be the object of a noisy demonstration than
a quiet assassination.
- I usually post only from Sci.Military.Naval -
I would think an outline of his naval career would be suitable for at
least one of his cross-posting addresses. Say how he got the
commission, first duty station and so forth.
I met Bill when I was in High school
My contact was minimal
my sister and Brother in law's contacts were extensive and continue to
this day
Vince
Maybe Hines will finally take this opportuity to be a good role model.

That's an honest answer.
He was an undergraduate student at Georgetown at the time?
So he's about five years older than you?
I understand Bill was very "Arkansas" at that time, used to talk about how
big the watermelons were there and so forth -- that he could be quite
charming -- and often had the style of a very smooth and accomplished
high-school politician, with a useful touch of yokel blended in.
What were your impressions of him?
Cheers,

Clearly implying you thought "She made him who he was" and that "she was the
smart one" -- although you never saw them TOGETHER -- and have never
interacted with her at all -- right?
I think they are BOTH very smart -- but warped, of course. <g>
If you study how they operated at Yale Law School -- [they are not "Yale
graduates"] -- you can better see how they are DIFFERENTLY smart.
In a nutshell, SHE did the research, the due diligence and wrote the
briefs -- whereas HE was the fellow out front, the litigator, arguing the
case in the Mock Court.
NOW their roles are reversed, sort of and imperfectly, because he chafes in
the "support" role and she can be uncomfortable in the up-front campaigning
role -- although, since she is very smart, she is getting BETTER at it and
has looked REALLY good in Pennsylvania, Indiana and West Virginia.
She is even dressing better and looking radiant -- the best she has looked
in years.
To summarize, YES she is damned smart -- but so is he -- so don't
*misunderestimate* him. <g>
Many folks have -- and they have been snookered, to their rue.

your editing slightly distorts the context.
But I will be clearer
When bill and Hillary were discussed in our family
He was the "Warm" one and she was the "Smart" one.
This is smart as in "the smarter of two very smart people"

I can agree, although it was not the context in which I was writing
Vince
But you were wrong -- your family was wrong.
Yes, he is indeed "WARMER", more of a SCHMOOZER -- but they are BOTH very
SMART.
N'est ce pas?
> When bill [sic] and Hillary were discussed in our family
You even CAPITALIZE Hillary but NOT Bill -- indicating a clear, true
underlying bias. Freudian slip.
You have met and had some social interaction with HER, or not?

My wife has met her professionally
I have seen her speak and at hearings
She is very impressive
So, you have never met her socially, much less interacted with her socially
in a continuing way.
Fair Enough.
So we've got that established now.

You didn't comment on any of this...
Indeed you studiously ignored it.
Why?
Comments?

Well, if we are telling war stories...
There I was at ten-thousand feet...oops, that was another one. Well, there
I was in Brussels, Belgium with a NATO study group, all elderly navy
captains and army colonels when we passed through the bar of the hotel, and
there was Rod Stewart, with the traditional blonde bombshell. We were
intent on our special order of a hundred mussels, in garlic and butter
(Mussels in Brussels, natch) and I do not think that anyone even noticed. I
do not know if it was our being gentlemen, and letting him enjoy his
evening, or whether the lot of us did not know who Rod Stewart was.
I felt no need to comment on your opinion
you provided no citation on the facts

My most interesting celebrity experience (other than Julie Andrews)
Was sitting in Judge John Sirica's courtroom the day Rose Mary Woods
tried to explain the 18 and half minute. I was sitting next to New York
writer Jimmy Breslin who kept writing "liar Liar LIAR" in his notebook
Leon Jaworski was fantastic

Indeed...
Prissy Twaddle.
It's common knowledge and you know it.
Several people who were their Yale Law School classmates have gone public on
it -- and I have spoken with two.
She did the research, burned the midnight oil and wrote the briefs -- his
participation was often episodic and even minimal.
Then he breezed in -- studied the briefs and went into the Mock Court loaded
for bear.
Good Teamwork... Different Smarts.
Many law firms operate the same way and you KNOW THAT too.
Don't try to play dumb.
Good lawyers bring different skills to the table and come in different
flavors with different strengths and weaknesses.
Some are best as TRIAL LAWYERS -- whereas some are NOT.
