I don't suppose many people remember me as it is some time since I
posted here.

It seems very quiet here so I though I would do some shameless book
promotion.

There is a biography of my father coming out in 2 weeks called
Everest - The First Ascent: The untold story of Griffith Pugh, the man
who made it possible my Harriet Tuckey.

US Edition: Everest - The First Ascent: How a champion of science helped
to conquer the mountain.

From over-wintering and Yeti hunting in the Himalayas to the Mexico
Olympics, from channel swimming to hill walking, the story of Griffith
Pugh is much more than just Everest.

It has had some very good endorsements and general readers have enjoyed
it, not just mountaineers and sports people.

There is a face book page:
https://www.facebook.com/EverestTheFirstAscent
And general info at http://goo.gl/gs2jE

Take a look if you have time.

I took a detailed interest in the 1952/3 expeditions st the time and well remember your father's contribution. I seem to remember he was quite prominent in some of the newsreel films? You must be very proud.

Hmm, my normal news server doesn't seem to be picking up posts so this is via google.

Thanks, and yes.
Also the book was an amazing achievement by my sister, not only the quality of her her research and her grasp of the subject as non scientist but also getting it published in these difficult times.

Every one who has read it has been very positive, it really is a different take on the subject despite the huge number of books covering Everest.
