The fact that Begala was once president of the student body of my alma
mater, the University of Texas, famed in song (even another university sings
about it) and deed, but seems a nasty little shit, does not alter the
potential rectitude of his claim, as sad a commentary as it may be on the
attitudes of many folks.

Personally, I'm more comfortable with intellectuals and blacks, than I am
with feminists and cockgobblers - but hey, that's just me ;-)).

I know it pains you to see her on the way out, but people who actually care
about the country are quite pleased.

This is the first step in getting back to functional politics in the US.
The decent Republicans should be looking for a power hose and disinfectant
to
clean out the neocon puppeteers, their jesus braindeads and the corporate
looters.

Woohoo. This Sharma guy says exactly the thoughts I have on the
current Hiliary-Obama battle. McCain looks like the next Presidnet.

I think the article Democrats do have a nominee by Muhammad Cohen [May
6 http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Front_Page/JE06Aa01.html ] was
oversimplistic at best, and biased at worst. As an Indian
studying in the US here is what I have observed from the relentless
election coverage on all TV channels that is impossible to escape:
When Obama says something vague and fluffy, lacking any substance, the
media portrays it as a message of hope, and a better tomorrow. When
[Hillary] Clinton says something nearly identical we are told that
that she is all talk, just a politician, more of the same, old wine in
a new bottle, etc. In particular, the conservative sections of the
media have attacked Clinton 10 times harder than Obama. I get the
feeling that they consider her a far more credible threat, and want to
knock her out as quickly as possible. They seem to be quietly
confident in their ability to shred Obama to pieces once the real
contest begins - and that really worries me. It's pretty much certain
now that Obama will be the democratic nominee, and I just hope that he
doesn't end up victimized like Al Gore or John Kerry. The last few
elections have been pretty much gifted to the Republicans by the media
through completely biased reporting. I just hope Obama is not a lamb
being fattened for slaughter - so far the media have given him a fairy
tale ride (it seems too good to be true for a Democrat), but then the
real nastiness of the real election is yet to begin - and that's where
the Republicans shine! In the worst case, we may be looking at four or
eight years of McCain - and he'll want to make Americans forget the
Iraq war by starting another one in Iran!

I've never thought of Begala as a "nasty little shit", and he doesn't seem
to have that rep as compared to other political strategists - i.e. Carville
and Rove. Interestingly, Begala is a devout pro-life Roman Catholic which
one wouldn't usually associate with liberal types.

People are responsible for their own behaviours. I have no doubt that
political strategists use lowdown measures on behalf of their own
candidates. Begala isn't someone who is usually known as particularly
"nasty". But, when it comes down to the wire, I guess all stops are pulled

Hopefully, not for much longer.

I think a lot of Demos secretly don't like either of them, and the support
she has comes from the remaining party machinery they cultivated over 20
years, and homosexuals and feminists (which to some extent are part of the
machinery).

I'm hoping when she returns to the Senate she finds a lot of indifference
and winds up on the outside.

This contest is a good indication that her mishandling of healthcare reform
was not just a fluke of incompetence on her part.

She had the machine, the name recognition, the contacts, big money, a former
President as a husband, and a sense of inevitabliltiy - and then she lost to
a black guy with NONE of that, and who had to dfepend on the internet for
money.

She's another incompetent feminist.

She lost healthcare reform, when she tried to nationalize healthcare,
including workers, with a new byzantine beauracracy.

All her opponents had to do was present the bizarrre organizational chart
for her idiotic program, and remind people how efficient Soviet bureacracy
was in delivering services ("was" becasue the socialist state had recently
collapsed).

She played right into their hands and gave them valid issues to advertise.

All she had to do was extend Medicare insurance to everybody. One
centralized insurance administrator would have enough, and probably too
much, power over private medical services and products deliverery in terms
of pricing.

She's a phony who had to get political stature by marriage and we all should
be grateful she got shown up.

That's standard cockgobbler line. It's supposed to paralyze people from
criticizing either fags or feminists.

Many Americans have distain for pedophiles, rapists and homosexuals - are
we all closeted pedophiles, rapists and gays?

The Clintons have always had a lot of gay support, and one of his first acts
as President was to try to force US military to allow open homosexuals in
the ranks.

Your slavish knee-jerk defenses of her sound like you like being dominated
by bitches and faggots - which isn't much of a surprise.

By the way, Einstein, this started over my support for Obama (who is black)

Sure. I don't know your wife, so I can't comment. The few marriages I've
seen where the wife was an active male demeaning feminist, had husband's who
were unhappy, furtive little fellows.

I know something about Clinton's wife, and the only way she achieved any
stature was by being married to a slick politican, and then capitalizing on
that.

She flunked her BAR.

She got caught in a crooked futures trading arrangement that she lied her
way out of.

Her only legal job was apparently given to her via her husband's poltical
position in Arkansas.

She loused up a big project she was given by her husband (healthcare
reform).

Her husband was shown in an FBI investigation to be a sexual degenerate,
using a young female intern in a way that normal people would find perverse
and outrageous. She stayed marreid to him.

She has been planning for a Presidential run for many years, got handed the
machine, the contacts, the money sources, and now a black guy nobody ever
heard of has beaten her (at least hopefully).

I'm sure there's lots more, but that's enough.

> Hitler put homosexuals into concentration camps with Jews

Yeah. That may be the problem and another reason to keep her out of the the
Presidency.

He had to call in Republican apparachik David Gurgen sp? becasue hs
administration was in such bad shape.

He put US forces in a bad position doing the UN's work in Somalia, with
predictable results.

He was so spooked over the domestic effects of the relatively few Somalia
KIAs and TV images, that he sabotaged the UN's attempts to do anything to
head off the Rwanda genocide. 800,000 people. But he later apologized.

He showed manifest irresposibility in placing a totally unqualified person

Before or after flunking the DC BAR? ... and, then why didn't she?
Why did she follow Bill around versus making her own career on her own

Can you tell us what cases she has tried that indicate she is a 'brilliant"

I've heard she was at Rose because Bill was in politics and she was supposed
to be bringing business in.

By the way, do "brilliant" people lie about things that are easily

When a state politician's wife is hired by a law firm with deep roots to the
major corporations in the state, and then never tries any cases, what the

Bernstein: Hillary Clinton is inauthentic
Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist says his biography reveals her 'real' self

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18981558/
By John Springer
TODAYShow.com contributor
updated 1:00 p.m. MT, Fri., June. 1, 2007
A new biography's unflattering portrayal of Democratic presidential
candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton as someone who "camouflages" her real self
for political gain is starting to attract attention - and not for the
salacious stories most books recount about the Clintons.

"A Woman in Charge," by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Carl Bernstein,
gives scant attention to the tense days the former First Lady spent in the
White House when Bill Clinton was sneaking around with his intern, Monica
Lewinsky. Instead, the former Washington Post reporter, who helped blow the
lid off Watergate, attempts to portray Hillary Clinton as someone who is
willing to rewrite her own history to advance the political career she put
on hold when she moved to Arkansas with her college sweetheart who would
later become president.

"This is a woman who led a camouflaged life and continues to," Bernstein
told TODAY host Matt Lauer on Friday in an exclusive interview. "This book
takes away that camouflage." The book, which he called the first "real
biography" of Hillary Clinton, will be available on June 5.

To tell the story of Hillary Rodham Clinton's journey from a humble
childhood marked by abuse at home to the White House, and later the U.S.
Senate, Bernstein talked to about 200 close friends and advisers to the
Clintons. Bernstein said he learned a lot about Hillary Clinton, including
steps she took to try to silence the various women linked to her husband
throughout his political career.

Lying about being under fire is "politics"?

That answer shows your level of dishonesty, and your willingness to accept
feminsit lies designed to make themselves look good.

LOL

And you're saying they were and are, just like incompetent Hillary Clinton?

The Hillary that staff men in the White House said used emasculatory tactics
in pushing her dysfunctional ideas?

The Hillary that Bill started keeping out of meetings?

The Hillary that failed at the healthcare reform task she was given by her
husband?

You may think that putting up with that sort of crap is manly , but few
others do.

You're trying a tired old liberal line of crap of pretending wimphood is
manhood - it is not.

Many Americans have distain for pedophiles, rapists and homosexuals - are

we all closeted pedophiles, rapists and gays?

Many Americans have disdain for spoiler feminsits who try to look good by
tearing down men, instead of accomplishing things for themselves, BY
THEMSELVES.
You're trying to pretend it's a sign of weakness to criticze that plainly -
it is not.

The Clintons have always had a lot of gay support, and one of his first acts
as President was to try to force US military to allow open homosexuals in
the ranks.

That was rejected back in the early '90s, and hillary is again being
rejected, in 2008.

Paul Begala, Key Staffer & Hillary Supporter: "We Can't Win With Just

<http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/05/08/clinton-touts-white-support/>

Well, I reckon so...

Begala got that one right...

And Hillary Rodham Clinton is showing that's a MAJOR WEAKNESS of Barack
Hussein Obama.

He can't seem to attract the support of white, working class, blue-collar,
non-college-educated Americans in families making less than $50,000 per
year -- and Democrats CANNOT win without them.

West Virginia is _The Mountain State_ "Montani semper liberi" - Mountaineers
are always free -- is the State Motto. These are very proud and fiercely
independent people -- many of them of Scotch-Irish Ancestry.

Further, NO Democrat has been able to win the Presidency since 1916 without
winning West Virginia. Woodrow Wilson just barely beat Charles Evans
Hughes, the Republican, in that election with 49.2 % of the popular vote and
277 electoral votes to Hughes' 254....

And Barack Obama has turned his BACK on West Virginia and West Virginians.

BAD Move.

He has done the same thing with respect to Kentucky and Kentuckians...

And he's going to LOSE there as well.

He'll probably LOSE in Puerto Rico too -- and that's going to raise again,
indeed spotlight, the important question of how much support Obama will be
able to garner from Latinos, Chicanos and Hispanics.

Well, you're getting crushed in this thread, so you deal with it.

It's understandable why you're lying so much - from what you say have
relatives who have an in with the Clintons. With all the name dropping you
do, that must be very important to you.

My idea of an example of an *actual* strong, competent woman is Margaret
Thatcher.

With all your running and dodging and evasions about her failures, you're
trying to falsely promote Hillary Clinton as being a strong, competent
woman, worthy of being President.

Strong competent people, whether men or women, accumulate a record of
standing on their own, and accomplishment.

In Hillary's case, nobody would have ever heard of her if she wasn't Bill's
wife. And, the big healthcare reform project she was handed by her husband,
she failed at - but of course, it was all the nasty Republicans' fault...

This nomination contest is a good indication that her mishandling of

healthcare reform was not just a fluke of incompetence on her part.

She had the machine, the name recognition, the contacts, big money, a former
President as a husband, and a sense of inevitability - and then she lost to
a black guy with NONE of that, and who had to depend on the internet for
money.

I'm hardly alone in saying Hillary is a phony. Carl Bernstein's thorough
biography of her revealed an ongoing pattern of phony image building.

[
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/article1719879.ece
From The Sunday Times April 29, 2007
Watergate reporter demolishes Hillary's career story
Sarah Baxter, Washington
Drawing on a trove of private papers from Hillary Clinton's best friend, the
legendary Watergate journalist Carl Bernstein is to publish a hard-hitting
and intimate portrait of the 2008 presidential candidate, which will reveal
a number of "discrepancies" in her official story.
Bernstein reaches conclusions that stand in opposition to what Senator
Clinton has said in the past and has written in the past," said Paul
Bogaards, a spokesman for Knopf, which publishes the book on June 19. "A
Woman in Charge: The Life of Hillary Rodham Clinton". ]

But none of this really gets at what is scarring people like you.

What you're really feeling threatened about, is that your dysfunctional
politcal paradigm is in the process of being discarded by somebody who has
no stake
in it - that being Obama. You're frightened.

The feminist / homosexual agendas that have developed within the Democratic
party caused a migration of "cultural refugees" away from it, helped fuel
the christian braindeads, created a cultural situation ripe for a
manipulator like Rove, and made George Bush and his dysfunctional regime
possible.

To get good governemnet in the US, we need to get feminist / homosexual
agendas out of the Democratic party, and the christian fundamentalists out
of the Republican party, so that the
US can return to dealing with real issues, and have the kind of competent
leaders we had in decades past.

Quit being so afraid, professor.

We don't want any more of your culture wars in the US - we need pragmatic
honest people who can listen to both sides of an argument, and lead in
sensible humanly *normal* directions.

I suspect that JA's antipathy may be aggravated by an severe case of
misogyny.

I'm no fan of Hillary. I do, however, consider her to have been the Warwick
to Bill's kingship/governorship/presidency, able to stimulate and manipulate
him and the system to take advantage of his masterful skills at politicking.
The only problems occurred/occur when he's out of sight.

I grew up in a household full of women, four younger sisters, all stimulated
to success, teacher, accountant, retired Chief Justice of an appeals Court
now mostly practicing at environmental mediations and arbitrations often in
glamorous venues like London, and an OB/GYN with a sizeable reputation for
surgery. Our two daughters have been not much less pointed toward the level
of success which provided for self-sufficiency if need be or incomes and
positions well above norms.

In neither case did it have much to do with "feminism", but more to do with
simple economics, that for my sisters and daughters, the future might - in
50% or so of matrimonial contracts - bring marriage to rotten sumbitches
either incapable or unwilling to support them in reasonable style. So far,
half the sisters have been fortunate, and the unlucky one had a first
husband more than capable of generating income for support, simply a rotten
sumbitch, while the unfortunate sister married her highschool sweetheart who
never progressed far beyond graduation as the pinnacle of his career. A
fine horse trainer and horseshow judge, he remains far better with horse
than human relationships.

"Feminism" is hardly the problem, either as it is practiced by the ardent
feminists (so many of who do appear infected by a similar sexist outlook
which displayed by a man would certainly label him a misogynist) or as
described in the media. Feminism is not nearly so damaging to individuals
and societies as the unlabeled disease which causes mothers to become and
remain enablers for their offspring, most often their sons, building and
supporting perspective and conduct ranging from simply abusive to downright
sociopathic.

Were Hillary the sort of "appealing" personality that she's not, and not so
capable of generating ire among men and amazing levels of antagonism from
women who see themselves as modestly successful, and not so obviously a
victim of an obsession to "keep on climbing", she would be the nominee and
an almost shoe-in for election. I don't consider her any more brutal at the
practice of politics than are dozens of men and women in the "game", with
Carville among the bloodiest-minded, while Rove is little more than a
planner/strategist, best capable of determining the dirty work for others to
accomplish, almost a laboratory exercise.

My antipathy toward Begala goes back many years to the tactics employed as
he ran for election to the presidency of his university's student body.
They were offensive and would have been unacceptable in the worst of Chicago
ward-politics, much less on the campus of a large university. He "got what
he wanted", but was sentenced to an ever hereinafter, rejected by the same
"powers" he was attempting to impress and ending up as a tactician employed
and used by others and an occasional talking head on TV. In attempting to
damage the reputation of one of his opponents in that long ago election, he
made an enemy, interestingly a big time life-long Democrat, one of those
silent and rarely seen figures who lurks, holding on to a key to unlock a
bit of the past potentially damaging to Begala (and maybe even to his
current employer(s). The potential threat essentially drove Begala from
what seemed a promising political career off to a life shilling for others.

On the other side of the equation, Begala has at least one strong friend and
supporter, a former regent of the university, longtime giver and fundraiser
for Democratic candidates, wealthy insurance magnate, to whom Begala owes no
little part of his success.

My antipathy towards him, while based on his long ago actions, is centered
on what I see as a semi-betrayal of trust. Having eaten the Clinton's bread
and salt and slept in their tent, it's pretty hard to justify to others or
to self pimping about the airwaves masquerading as an objective commentator.

In other words, I wouldn't trust the merest utterance from the sleazy
bastard's forked tongue.

What did he do?

What were these allegedly offensive tactics he employed at the University of
Texas?

"While at the University of Texas, Begala was a candidate for student
government president. However, he finished second to a write-in campaign
for Hank the Hallucination, an invisible monster character from the campus
comic strip "Eyebeam". Following his loss, Begala wrote a tongue-in-cheek
complaint for the Daily Texan, arguing "I cannot help but feel Hank's

lacks substance." Begala was declared the human winner, following a ruling
that imaginary characters could not hold the position."

It was all an elaborate shibai set up by Begala himself?

not otherwise voted to the polls and a number of voters who would have
normally supported the favored candidate. Begala's corps of adherents was
small, but all were "in" on the hoax.

You're repeating the kind of browbeating feminist arguments that you have
obviously been under the thumb of. And your smear tactics are no more
effective than your "arguments".

Many people reject the nature of American poltical "feminism".

Many people see through Hillary, including many women who know what she
represents and where she's coming from, and don't support her.

It's the sign of a weak male, to think Hillary is strong and competent in
the face of all evidence to the contrary.

from below article:

""" Hillary's disdain for masculinity fits right into the classic feminazi
package, which is why Hillary acts on Gloria Steinem like catnip. Steinem's
fawning, gaseous New York Times op-ed about her pal Hillary this week speaks
volumes about the snobby clubbiness and reactionary sentimentality of the
fossilized feminist establishment, which has blessedly fallen off the
cultural map in the 21st century. History will judge Steinem and company
very severely for their ethically obtuse indifference to the stream of
working-class women and female subordinates whom Bill Clinton sexually
harassed and abused, enabled by look-the-other-way and trash-the-victims
Hillary. """

Hillary without tears, Salon, Jan., '08
By Camille Paglia

A swarm of biographers in miners' gear has tried to plumb the inky depths of
Hillary Rodham Clinton's warren-riddled psyche. My metaphor is drawn (as
Oscar Wilde's prim Miss Prism would say) from the Scranton coalfields, to
which came the Welsh family that produced Hillary's harsh, domineering
father.

Hillary's feckless, loutish brothers (who are kept at arm's length by her
operation) took the brunt of Hugh Rodham's abuse in their genteel but
claustrophobic home. Hillary is the barracuda who fought for dominance at
their expense. Flashes of that ruthless old family drama have come out
repeatedly in this campaign, as when Hillary could barely conceal her sneers
at her fellow debaters onstage -- the wimpy, cringing brothers at the dinner
table.

Hillary's willingness to tolerate Bill's compulsive philandering is a
function of her general contempt for men. She distrusts them and feels
morally superior to them. Following the pattern of her long-suffering
mother, she thinks it is her mission to endure every insult and personal
degradation for a higher cause -- which, unlike her self-sacrificing mother,
she identifies with her near-messianic personal ambition.

It's no coincidence that Hillary's staff has always consisted mostly of
adoring women, with nerdy or geeky guys forming an adjunct brain trust.
Hillary's rumored hostility to uniformed military men and some Secret
Service agents early in the first Clinton presidency probably belongs to
this pattern. And let's not forget Hillary, the governor's wife, pulling out
a book and rudely reading in the bleachers during University of Arkansas
football games back in Little Rock.

Hillary's disdain for masculinity fits right into the classic feminazi
package, which is why Hillary acts on Gloria Steinem like catnip. Steinem's
fawning, gaseous New York Times op-ed about her pal Hillary this week speaks
volumes about the snobby clubbiness and reactionary sentimentality of the
fossilized feminist establishment, which has blessedly fallen off the
cultural map in the 21st century. History will judge Steinem and company
very severely for their ethically obtuse indifference to the stream of
working-class women and female subordinates whom Bill Clinton sexually
harassed and abused, enabled by look-the-other-way and trash-the-victims
Hillary.

How does all this affect the prospect of a Hillary presidency? With her eyes
on the White House, Hillary as senator has made concerted and generally
successful efforts to improve her knowledge of and relationship to the
military -- crucial for any commander-in-chief but especially for the first
female one. However, I remain concerned about her future conduct of
high-level diplomacy. Contemptuous condescension seems to be Hillary's
default mode with any male who criticizes her or stands in her way. It's a
Nixonian reflex steeped in toxic gender bias. How will that play in the
Muslim world?

The Clintons live to campaign. It's what holds them together and gives them
a glowing sense of meaning and value. Their actual political accomplishments
are fairly slight. The obsessive need to keep campaigning may mean a
president Hillary would go right on spewing the bitterly partisan rhetoric
that has already paralyzed Washington. Even if Hillary could be elected
(which I'm skeptical about), how in tarnation could she ever govern?
The current wave of support for Barack Obama from Democrats, independents,
and even some Republicans is partly based on his vision of a new political
discourse that breaks with the petty, destructive polarization of the past
20 years. Whether Obama can build up his foreign policy credentials
sufficiently to reassure an anxious general electorate remains to be seen.

But Hillary herself, with her thin, spotty record, tangled psychological
baggage, and maundering blowhard of a husband, is also a mighty big roll of
the dice. She is a brittle, relentless manipulator with few stable core
values who shuffles through useful personalities like a card shark ("Cue the
tears!"). Forget all her little gold crosses: Hillary's real god is
political expediency. Do Americans truly want this hard-bitten Machiavellian
back in the White House? Day one will just be more of the same.

I will vote for Hillary if she is the nominee of my party, because I want
Democrats appointed to the Cabinet and the Supreme Court. But I plan to vote
for Barack Obama in the Pennsylvania primary because he is a rational,
centered personality who speaks the language of idealism and national unity.
Obama has served longer as an elected official than Hillary. He has had
experience as a grass-roots activist, and he is also a highly educated
lawyer who will be a quick learner in office. His international parentage
and childhood, as well as his knowledge of both Christianity and Islam,
would make him the right leader at the right time. And his wife Michelle is
a powerhouse.

The Obamas represent the future, not the past.

You never get much of anything right, do you?

If I was a mysogynist, would I praise Margaret Thatcher as strong capable
woman leader?

I;ve posted numerous rasons why I think Hillary's record shows her unfit to
be President - none of them involve her gender.

I'm sure at some time in US history, a woman will emerge as the best choice
in candidates - but it won't be Hillary.

I've also mentioned Carl Bernstein's biography of her, which basically
indicates she is a phony, with a purposely built phony image, consistent
with her baltant
Bosnia "under fire" story.

The fact that you ignore that, and kow tow to whatshername's mindless
maunderings, indicates both your level of intellect and ... well, I'll leave
that for the reader to decide.

Inane and stupid.

Certainly not the sort of discussion anyone would expect from a professor.

Following is some material for you to educate yourself with, it includes
mention of a kabuki show that Hillary's campaign put on, with some guys
pretending to tell her to "iron their shirts", and her, like the noble
femist she is, fending them off (it was all a little too obvious, not to
have been set up, and her delivering a prepared comeback)....

Reminds me of the strawman stuff you're alawys trying.

Get out from under that feminist thumb, professor.

Camille Paglia (an authentic strong smart woman), from recent Salon
articles:

" I agree that the male staff who Hillary attracts are slick, geeky weasels
or rancid, asexual cream puffs. (One of the latter, the insufferable Mark
Penn, just got the heave-ho after he played Hillary for a patsy with the
Colombian government.) If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say Hillary is
reconstituting the toxic hierarchy of her childhood household, with her on
top instead of her drill-sergeant father. All those seething beta males (as
you so aptly describe them) are versions of her sad-sack brothers, who got
the short end of the Rodham DNA stick. "

" The old-guard feminist establishment has also rushed out of cold
storage to embrace Hillary Clinton via tremulous manifestoes of gal power
that have startlingly exposed the sentimental slackness of thought that made
Gloria Steinem and company wear out their welcome in the first place.
Hillary's gonads must be sending out sci-fi rays that paralyze the
paleo-feminist mind -- because her career, attached to her husband's
flapping coattails, has sure been heavy on striking pious attitudes but
ultra-light on concrete achievements. "

" The compulsive war-room mentality of both Clintons is neurosis writ
large. The White House should not be a banging, rocking washer perpetually
stuck on spin cycle. Many Democrats, including myself, have come to doubt
whether Hillary has any core values or even a stable sense of identity. With
her outlandish fibbing and naive self-puffery, her erratic day-to-day
changes of tone and message, her glassy, fixed smiles, and her leaden and
embarrassingly unpresidential jokes about pop culture, she has started to
seem like one of those manic, seductively vampiric patients in trashy old
Hollywood hospital flicks like "The Snake Pit." How anyone could confuse
Hillary's sourly cynical, male-bashing megalomania with authentic feminism
is beyond me. "

"" Republican operatives have been salivating for Hillary to be the
nominee. Her vainglorious claim to have been fully "vetted" is ludicrous.
She and her husband left a mountain of manure in Little Rock and Washington
that hasn't even begun to be thrown. The mainstream media, despite its tilt
toward Obama, has been amazingly protective of the Clintons during this
campaign. Where were the chronologies of the voluminous Clinton scandals
that voters (especially young ones) needed to evaluate Hillary's
professional judgment and character? That the conservative Washington Times
has now begun to make document drops about Hillary's stonewalling and
duplicity (such as over the Rose Law Firm billing records) suggests that
Republicans have concluded her candidacy is kaput.
Surely, given Hillary's claim of expertise on the basis of her service as
first lady, every major or ambiguous episode in her husband's two
presidencies should have been systematically reexamined by the media. I for
one have renewed questions about the 1993 suicide of Deputy White House
Counsel Vince Foster, Hillary's former law partner and longtime friend,
whose files were purged by Hillary's staff before they could be examined for
evidence. One must always be skeptical about Web rumors, but my interest was
piqued last year by claims that Foster was shattered by the role he had
played three months earlier in the outrageous order for federal agents to
attack David Koresh's ranch at Waco, Texas, producing a conflagration that
led to 76 deaths, including 21 children. Why has the Waco fiasco been
forgotten? It triggered the worst case of domestic terrorism in U.S.
history, the 1995 revenge bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma
""

" Meanwhile, Hillary's flying of the feminist flag has become much more
ostentatious as her campaign wanes. Sexism will inevitably be the lurid
postmortem apologia for why she failed to break the ultimate glass ceiling.
Never mind her faults, limitations and dizzy-making multiple personality
disorder as a candidate -- or her depressingly unfeminist professional
attachment to an alpha male who may be the real reason she won the votes of
many working-class white men. I repeatedly heard sound-bite interviews with
rural male Pennsylvanians who said they were voting for Hillary either
because Bill Clinton would actually be running her White House or because
Bill had produced the prosperity of the '90s (a highly questionable
assertion) and thus can cure our ailing economy.

Hillary has certainly given a blast of artificial resuscitation to
male-bashing paleo-feminism, which is back with a vengeance. The blogosphere
is awash with accusations of "traitor" against women who have the temerity
to vote for Obama. Gloria Steinem's anointed heir, Susan Faludi, weighed in
with a recent New York Times op-ed about Hillary bizarrely arguing that a
sports referee or umpire is "coded feminine" (huh?) and parallels the
vintage American feminist as "prissy hall monitor" and "purse-lipped
killjoy" -- a stereotype that Hillary the pugilist has broken. (Oh, really?
When has Faludi ever endorsed pugilistic feminism before?)

With nice synchronicity, that same week Rebecca Walker, Steinem's
goddaughter, was complaining about entrenched feminist "ideology" in the
Sunday Times in London. The brand of feminism promoted by her mother,
feminist icon Alice Walker, is in Rebecca's words "close to a cult": "I feel
I had to de-programme myself in order to have independent thought." My own
protest against the ideology problem in feminism has been going on, through
word and deed, since the late 1960s. My latest salvo, "Feminism Past and
Present: Ideology, Action, and Reform" (the keynote address of a conference
on feminism at Harvard University in April) will appear in the Spring/Summer
issue of Arion, to be published in print and on the Web in June.

Another point: Most of the media fell hook, line and sinker for the "Iron my
shirt!" stunt at a Hillary campaign event in January in New Hampshire, where
two scruffy male hecklers were clearly in collusion with her staff. (The
signs -- including one suspiciously permitted on the stage itself -- were
carefully positioned and lit, and Hillary had a pat prepared line to draw
camera attention to them.) Those dorky guys, at least one with a link to a
radio station, are far too young to have the slightest knowledge of an era
when women ironed men's shirts -- or when shirts needed ironing at all!
Businessmen's shirts go to the cleaners nowadays, and everyone else's gear
is just tossed into the dryer. That hoax was designed to reawaken the
atavistic resentments of older women voters -- and it worked. "

I think we know who the eunuch is, and who's under the feminsit thumb, so go
ahead and post whatever you like.
