I have a copy of the following picture and thought there might be some
connection as the name is Rose and it is at Kilravock House, Scotland.

In Private Collection at Kilravock House/Scottish National Portrait
Gallery, Edinburgh. Depicts a boy holding a Battledore (vellum covered
racquet for playing Battledore & Shuttlecock (now called Badminton). It is
an Oil Painting 17 x 12in. (Ref: at the Witt Library, London, B/2822
(1994).
