The words "within" and "without" were used to distinguish two churches
dedicated to St Nicholas both founded in the middle ages. They refer to
the fact that one was inside the city walls and the other was outside (it
was physically part of St Patrick's Cathedral). Both became Church of
Ireland at the time of the Reformation. The Catholic church of St
Nicholas of Myra is in Francis Street, Dublin 8 (also outside the
original city walls).

It means "inside the (old) walls of Dublin" and "outside ..."
St Nicholas Within is now an empty roofless shell opposite Christchurch
Cathedral.
St Nicholas Without is in fact a chapel attached to St Patrick's Cathedral.
Both are Church of Ireland.

The RC St Nicholas is called "St Nicholas of Myra". Myra, which I think
is in the Middle East, is where he was from.

Records before about 1870 will be held in The National Library.
Records after should be in the church.

All civil records (of births, as opposed to of baptisms) are in the State
Registry.

It seems that both are Church of Ireland, and that there is also a
: St. Nicholas (without) RC Church.

: [illegible] in the Registrar's District of [illegible] in the Union of

: I have a later marriage (1894) in Cork where "Chapel" is crossed out and
: "Church" is hand written in.
:
: Does St. Nicholas RC Church have baptismal records? If not where
: could I find them?
