I have an Abigail Briggs in my genealogy workup but I'm not sure if the
dates are right. She was born in Sherman, Conn., 2/12/1793, died in
?/1846 and had eight older siblings. Her Briggs antecedents came from
Taunton, Mass. Her father was one of my antecedents, Zephaniah Briggs and
her mother was Patience Newton, also of Taunton, MA. If you think we are
on the same page, I can take her line back three more generations in this
country. Unfortunately, the Taunton church records were burned in 1838 and
I have been unable to truly connect with the info I have on the Briggs in
England.
