My problem is I am researching my family line and the only start I have is
a name. He is my grandfather. No informtion is known, as my grandmother
kept him away after my mother was born. She has since died with no
information given when she was alive. All we know is that he was from
Michigan, has died and was in some branch of the service. I am in CT and
can't seem to get any information anywhere. I have searched the databases,
the surnmae lists, SSDI, and many others. I am subscribed to the Michigan
lists and get no help. It seems as if I will need to go to Michigan!! Is
this true??!! Any suggestions?! His name was Edward Schambers.
