Hello,

I am researching the Curley family. I am told
that at one time in Ireland the name may have
been McCurley.

Thomas Curley married Susanna Everson, daughter of Richard
Everson in Canada. Probably in Ontario. Susanna was
born in 1835 in Ontario. Thier first son, Huge Curley,
was born in Canada on 3-17-1851. He married in Marlette
Michigan on 9-14-1879. He died in Bay Co., MI.
Their second son, Henery A. Curley was born in St. Clair
co. MIchigan on 9-27-1855. He married Digrethia Vanadour
in Bay Co. MIchigan. He died in Monroe, Michigan on 1-22-1941.
Thomas and Susanna had a total of 7 children. From what
I have learned I beleive that they moved back and forth
between Ontario and Michigan several times.
Susanna died on 12-3-1923 and is buried in Curtis, Alcona Co.
Michigan. We have never been able to find out when or where
Thomas died or where he is buried.

Any help on finding any info on Thomas Curley would be greatly
appreciated. I do not know how to get marriage record lookups in
Canada and I do not have an exact date. I would guess that
Thomas and Susanna married about 1852 or later since she was
born in 1835. I would love to learn the name of Thomas's parents
so I can track back to Ireland.

If you use the following web-site,you will get some idea about
where the Everson and Curley families were in Ontario in 1871.
This is an Index to Heads of Household from the 1871 census. It only
lists the heads of household,but it does show religion and country of
birth.It also gives an explanation of the headings and location.

The Ontario registration of marriages,births and deaths didn't
start until 1869.

Let me know how you make out with this. Remember that it is
1871,so maybe that is why there doesn't seem to be a Richard Everson
of the right age to be the parent.
