Uncle Joseph b.1897 d.1934, and this info was passed on to me by my Aunt
Gertrude b. 1903 d.2000, so her name and birth place are questionable.

Information regarding Amalie Augusta Gulbrandsen, born 1867 in Kristiania
If the name you have given is correct, this girl may be the right, born
16.01 and baptized 24.01.1868 in Gamle Aker (# 234 page 149):

We have searched all the other parish (“menighet”) of Kristiania at this
time without any result: Trefoldighet, Grønland, Vår Frelser/Oslo domkirke
and Garnisonsmenigheten (military). Gamle Aker was a former part of Aker
parish which was surrounding Kristiania, but was included in the city in
1861.
The address “Sagveien” is still excisting:

A digital version of the 1875 census is not complete, and Aker is one of the
parish that is still not digitized in a searchable form. This is probably
the reason you don’t find Augusta Amalie in 1875. It is not known when or if
someone will
digitize the 1875 census for Aker parish.
We have not be able to find Augusta Amalie Gulbrandsen as emigrated from
Kristiania/Oslo. It was not uncommon that people at this time used different
lastnames. She therefore might have used Johansen (daughter of Johan) as her
last
name. If so, this can be your person, but emigrated in 1894:

>From the Gamle Aker Parish Record of Barns 24 Jan 1868, we see that her
father was Johan Gulbrandsen, and her mother was Maren Johannesen. there are
witnesses Anne Johannesen, Josephine Amalie Jacobsen, and Hans Johannesen.
The Norwegian Historical Data Centre (NHDC) has many similar names, but not
grouped as if they were a family.
This is where I am stuck - the Aker Census is not transcribed for 1865, 1875
or 1900, internet searches on the names of the parents nor witnesses give no
results.
