Actually, it's available for SALE at that site ($26.95), and it is only for
County Cork. Also, it only works with Windows (not Mac).

Spammer Steve,

You could save people a lot of time by mentioning the following:

1. Which country
2. Which area of that country
3. That it's not a download, it's a sale. That having been said, this would then
belong in the .marketplace group.

Other than that, great post.

This is very correct. If you post a message about something to download or
get inform the reader if it is free gratus or if they have to pay to get the
download. Sending people blind to a site is not a very good pactice and
sooner or later they will block your address for spaming them.

This is the same company which published the "NY Births & Deaths 1809-1988"
CD. The vast majority of that CD's data appears to have been extracted
from the Social Security Death Index for SS#s issued in NY, with the
SS#s and ZIP codes stripped off. Birthdates for a few famous people have
been salted in. Interestingly, the entries for 1809 and most other early
birthdates match up with obvious typos in the SSDI.

Who knows - perhaps some of their other offerings will have greater
value. But look before you leap - the company will not accept returns
for refund once the seal on the CD package has been broken.
