Hi Nancy,

I have a connection to many Maynard's in Kentucky, some who moved to Indiana.
My husband's great grandmother is a Maynard, she is from Indiana, but a lot of
her family came from Kentucky.  She is 102 years old now and still living, will
be 103 soon.  Her name is Nellie Maynard.

I will have to dig up the info I have on her family.  I know it is here
somewhere, I just haven't gotten around to entering my notes into FTM, so it is
all on CD's and paper.  I believe, but am not 100% positive, that one of her
parents was an Ellis (surname).  Does any of this sound as if it fits in your
info perhaps?

Kimber

For a listing of obituaries I have on hand for St. Joseph Cty, IN, visit:

Good possiblity Kimber- I don't have an Ellis married to a Maynard in my
files, but then again, I don't have all of the Maynard info either- is
something else I am slowly but surely digging at-
What I've got on Maynard's, among other things- is this main one- Jane
Maynard who mrrd. Alexander Bishop- Jane and Alex were married about 1899 -
but- don't know where for sure. They are a mystery. Finally found them in
Mingo Co West Va in 1930- but their only two known children- well- finding
out what happened to them is another mystery- Alex and Jane were basically
off the face of the earth for like 20 years, not in the censuses that anyone
could find- until 1930 census came out- but, at the same time, they were all
over Pike County land transactions- was a mess!
Jane's parents were William T. Maynard and Victoria Williamson-
Her siblings were:
Alvis Orville; Emily, Ben, Bertrand, George W., Anna, Ida, Ora, May, and two
or three others I don't know for sure who they were-

William T. Maynard- Jane's father, was a son of Alvis Maynard, Sr.,. and
Harriet Taylor.
Most of this info came from a book called Alden Williamson Genealogy by
Joseph W. Alley- put out by Cook Printing Company out of Huntington West Va
1962.  There seem to have been a lot of connections between the Williamson
family and the Maynard's.
Course then too, most everybody in Pike County was related to everybody else
though!
If I do run across an Ellis associated with them, which I don't doubt I will
for a second, I'll let you know!
Nancy
