I have several ancestors whose parents are close cousins and
therefore relate back to the same set of great great grandparents
(adjust the greats depending on the ancestor). I want to know if in
the genealogy world this relationship has a special name or
terminology associated with it. It seems that there should be a
term beyond cousin to describe this situation.

Well cousins describes people related as you say.
If you share the same grandparents ie the children
of an aunt or uncle then they are First cousins
Going back to great grandparents then second
cousins and next great third cousins and so

Where siblings marry siblings, I've frequently heard the offspring
termed 'double' first cousins, but other than that, I don't believe
that there is terminology in common use. You use the closest cousin
relationship, then if you want describe other ways in which they're
related.
Particularly if you're studing a small place, this is a fairly
common situation. People tend to have the same person in several
places in thier ancestry. Do a web search for 'ancestor paradox' or
'ancestry collapse' - you'll find a number of pages discussing the

If you have siblings from one family marrying siblings from another
family, their children and grandchildren, etc. are called double
cousins.
