the preposition 'von' in Dutch language?
I know that the preposition 'van' is the preposition for signifying 'from' and 'of' in the Dutch, for example the genitive which is necessary in genealogical appellations. and I know that usually, 'von' in high german, as opposed to dutch. I am asking whether in any way the rendition 'von' is a genuine part of Dutch language.... more »

Hastings of Roxby
By combining an IPM with a BHO entry for Kinthorpe, I believe we can create a lineage from 1340 back to the time of King Richard I. The question that I have remaining is can a line be drawn from the Hastings of Roxby forward to the time of King Henry 8 or later ? That is, did this line survive ? The clue to making the connection backward is in the office of... more »
